Musing Mondays (8)

Musing Mondays is a weekly meme hosted on Monday by MizB of Should Be Reading
The question for this week is: What books are you wishing for MOST right now?

These three books are my “I must read SOON” books, they are also some of my favorite authors to read from!!! That Perfect Someone is the most current release by Johanna Lindsey and of the Malory Series (One of my Absolute series to read) The Hawk will be coming out at the end of this month WHOOT!! I just loved the first book so I am really looking forward to the second book of this exciting series! Then there is Savour the Moment by Nora Roberts, and I just loved the first two books of this series, and Savor the Moment recently came out, and I can hardly wait to get my hands on it!

This week Miz B over at Should Be Reading is shaking things up. The idea is you answer the question of the last commenter…and then leave a question for the next person to answer. It’s sort of like a round-robin type of thing.
The Question the most recent commenter is from Kristin, and this is her question:
Do you write your review of a book as soon as you finish reading it and before you start reading your next book?Do you take some time to digest the book before writing the review?
I usually wait until after I have finished the book to write the review, but I do try to write it as soon as I can, and sometimes I write before I start the next book, sometimes I don’t, just depends on my time for the day that I have. But I do try to write the review while the feelings I get from the current book that I have just finished is fresh in my mind.
My Question:
What is your favorite place and time  to read a good book? and Why?

Monday Musings (6)

What does your bookshelf (or, what do your bookshelves) say about you to the people who come into your home?
For me, I think it says how much I love to read and how much literature means to me in my life. I love to read mostly fiction, and some spiritual literature. I think it says that I have meaning and purpose in my life, and that I try to enjoy every moment to its fullest!!!

Who in your family (both immediate & extended) are readers, and who are not?
Well For me, My dad loves anything that is a thriller, adventure, spiritual or fantasy. Some of his favs are Clive Cussler and Tom Clancy. My mom enjoys mostly self help and fiction that has a good story line, but doesn’t mind the sad endings one ( how we are related I will never know, since I hate sad endings) I have two sisters that enjoy romance, but mostly christian romance novels. So we are a reading family, but I think I am the only one that can’t enjoy a book unless it has some romance in it. So its been good to have a book blog so that I can have the same interests with others and make lots of friends.

Where is your most often used (favorite) reading spot? Do you have more than one? What makes your favorite spot just that? Share pictures if you have them!
Well it really depends, but mostly I like to read on my bed, but I also love to go up in the mountains and read, or at the library, really any place that I can find that is quiet!

Musing Mondays have changed from Just One More Page to MizB on Should Be Reading and so for this week here is the Musings:

Do you ever read a word or phrase that sparks a specific place or setting in your mind and makes you crave to read a book with that type of place/setting in it?

Of course, I think every reader that has a passion for books craves this scenario!! For me it can be a bunch of things depending on the day. However, I love it when there are time and place setting in Historical Scotland with Highlanders, kilts, swords, virile handsome men that take your breath away, and beautiful countryside, well that is the perfect scenario. I really love anything historical but also another setting I love is on the sea with pirates and adventure and romance!!!!

What happens when you see a movie based on a book/story, especially one you’ve not read? Do you feel the need to track it down and read it?

For me it depends on the movie of course, but if the movie is good then I definitely have to go track down the book!!! See if its better than the movie, which in most cases it most definitely is!! Of course most movies that are based on books I have read before the movie comes out! Some examples: Sahara, Pride & Prejudice, Twilight saga, Notebook, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, and many more!!!
