Synopsis
A REPUTATION AT RISKWhat woman in her right mind would say no to marrying the dashing Duke of Sedgemoor? Miss Penelope Thorne, that’s who. She’s known Camden Rothermere since they were children-and she also knows she’d bring nothing but scandal to his name.

Cam can hardly believe Penelope turned down his proposal. But if she wants to run off to the Continent and set the rumor mill ablaze, he can’t stop her. Then her brother’s dying request sends him to bring home the one woman he thought he’d finally gotten over.

The only way they’ll both get back to London without their reputations in tatters is to pretend they’re married during the journey. That means kissing like they mean it and even sharing a bed-until it becomes hard to tell where the game ends and true desire begins . .

My Review

Penelope Thorne, has known Cam since she was a child, and they practically grew up together. But when he shocks her with a marriage proposal, she refuses but not for the reasons he thinks. She loves Cam but knows how hard he has worked to make his family’s name respectable again. She knows that if he marries her she may bring scandal to his name and he would one day despise her. So Penelope leaves England and travels all over Europe. Camden, has always respected and liked Penelope, and years later, engaged to be married to a young woman he barely knows, he finds one of his closest friends, Penelope’s brother dying, and has one last request…find his sister and bring her home to England. So he practically forces her back to England, but through a turn of events, they end up compromised, and have no choice but to marry. Penelope knows that Cam will only regret marrying her, she has loved him for years, and knows she is too opinionated to be the obedient and passive duchess that he expects. But when a passion flares between them, Cam and Penelope begin a journey of self discovery, healing, and learning to trust. Will Cam learn the power of true love?

What A Duke Dares is the third in the latest series by this author. I had very high expectations from this book, and I did enjoy it quite a bit, but I think I had a little hard time fully getting into the story, not as much as the previous books. Having said that, there were many great qualities that I loved about this story and it had some aspects that I had a fine time with. The story sets up when Cam first proposes to Penelope, and you see the seeds of love just wanting to break free. Their interaction is pulling and enigmatic…you see a connection even though at first both characters deny it to themselves. Then we skip ahead, to where Cam hears the death request from Pen’s brother. Penelope has never forgotten Cam, and the last thing she needs is him dragging her back to a place where she feels constricted and not have the freedom to be herself. She reluctantly agrees to go back, but when they are caught in a storm and forced to pose as husband and wife…they know they will have to get married for real. Penelope resists way too much, you see how much she loves Cam, and that she would do anything but hurt him….but I do feel her character was a bit flaky at times. I loved her for the most part, but this section of the story really got annoying a bit. But Cam well….he was stellar. He told her they were getting married despite her reasons.

There is quite a bit of sensuality in this story…very heated and compelling and moving. I love seeing these two together, and although passionate had a emotional hint to it even in the “bedroom”. I loved seeing the emotional and physical connection go hand in hand. This story reeks of full intimacy blooming between this couple. It was a sweet and tender story that has you in love with this story and the moving love story!! But there is also a side sub plot that will really put you in the ringer and have you at the edge at times.

Overall stunning and emotionally moving from beginning to end!! Great details on each page, characters to worm their way into your hearts, and a romantic tale that is guaranteed to overwhelm your senses!! LOVED IT!!

Synopsis
It Takes A Lady

Brilliant scholar Genevieve Barrett knows how to keep a secret. Her identity as the author of her father’s academic articles has always been her greatest deception—until a charming housebreaker tries to steal the mysterious Harmsworth Jewel from her. She doesn’t reveal that she recognizes her father’s devastatingly handsome new student as the thief himself. For Genevieve, this will be the most seductive secret of all…

To Catch A Thief

Sir Richard Harmsworth has been living a lie, maintaining a rakish façade to show society that he doesn’t care about his status as a bastard. Yet long haunted by his unknown father’s identity, Richard believes the Harmsworth Jewel will confirm his claim as the rightful heir. But when Richard sets out to seduce the bookworm who possesses the stone, he instead falls for its beautiful owner. But even as she steals Richard’s heart, Genevieve will be in greater danger than her coveted treasure..

My Review

Sir Richard Harmsworth, has had to work very hard to gain respect as a member of the Ton, despite the fact he is a bastard. When he learns that a certain artifact, a jewel, will prove his legitimacy, his goal is to obtain it no matter the cost. Genevieve, is a scholar, and is the writer behind all of her fathers work. She hopes with the Harmsworth Jewel that was given to her, by a elderly woman who was always kind to her, that she will create a name for herself and have a career. She is content in being a spinster, until a certain rake comes along and stirs a hidden passion in her. Richard has come to seduce Genevieve into his bed, to gain the jewel, but as the progresses further into his seduction, he starts to lose his heart to her. Can he still go through with his plans or will the lovely Genevieve be his future?

A Rake’s Midnight Kiss is the second in this fantastic series that Campbell has created for us. Ever since I read the first book last year, I was hooked. I fell in love with the first one, so I had super high expectations for this one. However despite how much I enjoyed it, I think I was expecting a story to make me fall in love again just like”Seven Nights in a Rogue’s Bed” did. There are quite a few things that I did enjoy about it. And it still was a lovely romance that kept me hooked all the way through. The beginning set the stage for the story in such a perfect way, I couldn’t have imagined it any better. There is a scene of Genevieve being robbed, only the robber doesn’t know she is at home and she surprises him, and oh boy…..did this scene definitely made me laugh and stir up all kinds of senses. It took my breath away and I guarantee you won’t have any problem getting started with this one. We see Richard slowly seducing Genevieve, in very creative and playful ways, you just want to trade places with the heroine so you can experience it too. The heat in the story isn’t explosive or anything, its more of a gradual journey for them both, and the scenes were a bit steamy but not over much…just perfect for the style of this author and the way the story turns out.

The characters in this story were such fun. Richard, is a rake and a rogue but a fun one. He isn’t all serious or anything, to me he was as playful as a kitten and passionate as any grown man would be. We definitely see his faults first hand, but he makes up for it in many other ways that I am sure will delight the reader. The heroine was stubborn and very “Bluestocking” and I loved how Richard uses creative ways to soften her up. She has never been courted really, and has always known books and study and scholarly pursuits. It was very interesting seeing a different side to Genevieve blossom in ways you don’t expect from the beginning. We do see the other sons of sins in this book. We see Jonas and Sid-and they added some flavor to the story and it was fun seeing their involvement in helping this couple work their issues out since they have already obtained their HEA. Then we see Cam who is the next book. And oh boy, did he give me tingles in anticipation for his book–should be a whopper. There is a villain in the story but the villain isn’t fully realized until later half of the book, so his involvement in the story definitely adds a edge of suspense and tension that you don’t expect in the beginning but will blow you away in the end!!!

Overall A tender romance that is guaranteed to pull at the emotions and make your forget about reality and you live in the precious moments between Genevieve and Richard.  BEAUTIFULLY DONE!!

My Thoughts

Summary
In order to save her sister, Sidonie has volunteered to go in her place to Castle Craven. Her sister lost a bet where she was expected to spend seven nights in Merrick’s bed. Knowing that her sister couldn’t do so, she went in her place, not knowing what to expect. She has heard rumors and gossip about the man, who is suppose to be scarred with the disposition of a beast. When she first arrives she has no idea what is going to happen, or what Jonas Merrick will truly be like, she is suprised however when he turns out to be not a monster, but a man with a tortured past. Jonas doesn’t make any excuses for who he is, or what he has become. Jonas despite being a bastard, has made his wife in making his cousin’s life a hell, in return for past transgressions. He plans to ruin the man until a innocent miss comes in her sisters place to spend a week in his arms. Sidonie expects a man to be ruthless, but she starts to see a tender side to him, a side she knows rarely comes out. Even though she is hiding a secret from him that could threaten to tear everything apart including their love.

The Hero (Jonas Merrick)
Jonas, lost both of his parents young. His mother died when he was a boy and his father wasn’t much of a father due to losing his wife. So Jonas was raised mostly by servants, when he attends school at Eton, something occurs whereby he gains his scars that deforms his face. He knows he isn’t much to look at, but he vows revenge on his cousin who gained the title over him. He plans to gain wealth and fortune and ruin his cousin. When he meets Sidonie, a beauty beyond compare, he starts to feel his outer shell weakening, and he knows he would do anything to keep her in his life forever.

The Heroine (Sidonie Forsythe)
Sidonie, has high morals and values, and is still a innocent and has no idea the kind of man Jonas Merrick is. Sidonie is adamant never to marry. After seeing how her father and brother in law abuse their wives, she knew she could never enter into a arrangement where she would be considered a man’s property with no rights whatsoever. She knows she needs to find a way to help her sister. So when she loses a gambling debt to Jonas, she decides to go in her place. What she doesn’t expect to find is a man that would tempt her beyond her expectations and show her delights beyond her imagination.

My Thoughts
Seven Nights In a Rogue’s Bed is the first is this series, and is Campbell’s most recent book. I just love fairy tale themed books, and this one I would put at the top of the list. I loved the details that are portrayed in Anna Campbell’s writing. Jonas Merrick is definitely intimidating, totally irresistable and scarred, but has a soft heart at times. I loved seeing such a tough man be so gentle at times with Sidonie. We see that he has no real close friends, is alone for the most part, but we see a change to begin in him that I found to be fun to see. Sidonie, I thought was a bit holier than thou at the beginning, but as the story progressed I started to like her a lot more. It was fun to see these two fall in love, and definitely had a rocky start. It didn’t take me very long to get into it, after a few pages I was hooked. I just love a good romance that has conflict throughout the story, and always has something that occurs that shocks you-delightfully so I might add. I have really enjoyed this author, but this book would be at the top of my list of hers. Seven Nights in a Rogue’s Bed is a sensual read, filled with conflict and in depth characters, and a deeply romantic and intriguing read. A Luscious Read!!!

Storms split the heavens on the night Sidonie Forsythe went to her ruin.

Favorite Quotes
A light flare in his gray eyes. “Oh, I intend to service you, Bella,” Before she mustered another unconvincing protest, he lowered his lips to hers.
Heat. Softness. Trembling uncertainty. A hidden longing to respond. Jonas tasted all of that when he dipped his lips to Sidonie’s. He couldn’t say why he was so deeply moved to be the first man to kiss her. Her merest presence aroused him. It had from the first. Whatever power she possessed, he was helpless against it.

The plot was also full of surprises and intensity, and the romance was completely satisfying till the very last page. Definitely worth it!!! I was totally seduced by Midnight’s Wild Passion!!!
