Synopsis

Scandalous and provocative, The Seven Secrets of Seduction is an intoxicating insight into the mind of men and the desires of women; and the book has all the ton talking.
Secret #1: Every good seduction begins with a baited hook . . .
Well-educated, but not part of society, Miranda Chase is just as captivated by the erotic pages as everyone else in London. Intrigued by the layers she sees beneath the book’s surface, she writes an editorial about it, never realizing that her passionate words will draw an actual viscount to her uncle’s bookshop.
Maximilian, Viscount Downing, has very particular ideas about passion and sees truth only in desire. He freely flaunts his sensual power and seeks nothing more than another conquest; the one that could justify his entire debauched existence. But Miranda’s blend of innocence, trust, and love cause a strange thing to happen on the way to this seduction. Something that just might threaten the very fabric of his jaded heart . . .

My Thoughts

Summary
Miranda Chase, runs her uncle’s bookshop, and has a passion for a good read. While totally captivated in the newest gothic novel, she is interrupted by a stranger who makes her think of silken sheets and temptation beyond her wildest dreams. When there is a mix up in his book order, she heads off to return his book to him. She there learns that he is none other than The Viscount Downing, the one man that is notorious for his sensuality and power. Miranda knows that she in trouble when she reluctantly agrees to take on a project, organize Max’s library to a sense of order. Miranda is there day after day, and finds herself starting to feel being seduced, and though there is a part of her that resists, there is a larger part that only aches for his touch. Max, knew that Miranda was the one woman he wants to seduce more than any other. Her sweet innocence calls out to him in a way that he has never known. Miranda finds herself falling in love with the scoundrel who makes her burn, but she suspects he is hiding a secret, a secret that could tear their love apart.

The Hero Maximillen, Viscount Downing)
Max was raised in a home where both of his parents had constant affairs. Even though in the beginning his mother loved his father, but she hides her pain underneath all the men she seduces. Max enjoys life, loves to read, and more than that loves share the sensual pleasure to be found in bed. When he finds Miranda Chase, she is unique and special, he has never known a woman of such innocence and purity, one he wants to show her the pleasures of the bedroom. As he starts his game of seduction, he in turns find himself being seduced by a young woman that sneaks past his guarded heart.

The Heroine (Miranda Chase)
Miranda, even though she isn’t a part of society, was raised by her mother to be proper but now her life has changed. Even though she is well educated she craves freedom and has a very passionate side to her. When a erotic book comes out, she is intrigued by its pages, and see’s beneath every sentence and paragraph. She see’s a beauty about it that most don’t see. When she first meets Max, he stirs her blood, and she finds she can’t resist his tender seduction that tempts her the most sensual of pleasures. But how long will it last?

My Thoughts
For the most part I have truly enjoyed reading this author. It usually takes me a few chapters to get into her books, but once I get fully into them I am totally hooked. This book is the first in her Secrets series. From the first few pages, I was captivated. It started out instantly able to grab the readers attention. There is also such a unique sensuality about this book. Maximilian is total Rake and Rogue type, loves the pleasures of the bedchamber and see’s Miranda has unique and has never seduced, he see’s her as a challenge. He is very bold and full on sexiness. I found him to be irresistable at times, Miranda I found to be at time a complex character, a liked her quite a bit for the most part. She seemed to be independent and strong willed but also went after what she wanted. Although there were times that portions of the books had flowery writing, I also found that it held a unique freshness about it, that made me only want to read more. There is also such a sizzling chemistry and sensuality to this book. I almost felt like as the reader this book was seducing me as well. Even though it wasn’t my favorite from this author, I would highly recommend this to anyone that like a historical romance full of sensuality and freshness that will only entice you!!! A read you don’t want to miss out on.

First Line
Miranda Chase leaned against the smoothly worn counter and absently curled a finger around a tendril of hair, rubbing her thumbnail along the hump, creating a soft, steady rythm of sound against her ear as she devoured the words on the page.

Favorite Quote
“Did you just ask me for sex, sir?’
A strange smile stretched across his face, no less appealing than the previously half-mocking one but more mysterious in nature. “I asked for the section on erotic matters. though if you feel the desire to pass over the instruction and go right to the participation, I would be delighted.”

Synopsis
Lady Isabella Willoughby has always been patient and proper. But secretly, scandalously, she longs to be wild—to wear daring gowns while dancing the night away. Above all, she craves one thing: To be more than merely a “friend” to Marcus, the dashing, sinfully handsome Lord Roth.

Marcus has everything—power, prestige, wealth…enemies. He thrives on danger and lives life to the fullest knowing each day might be his last, for he carries a dark family secret which precipitates one simple rule—never fall in love. Especially not with dear Bella, who has, of late, transformed herself into a siren, bewitching every male she encounters with her newly unfettered sensuality. Marcus must not allow himself to be tempted—but his resolve is weakening by the minute.

For what Isabella desires, she is determined to get.

My Thoughts

Having become a widow, she is ready to be bold and daring like she has always dreamed of doing. She knows the one person that is perfect for teaching her ways to be scandalous…Marcus Stewart. Marcus and Isabella have been good friends for many years, playing chess and have a good platonic relationship. Marcus has never looked at Isabella as a woman, just a friend. The Hero (Marcus, Lord Roth)
Marcus, knows that he could never marry or have a family like he has desires. Circumstances of his birth, he knows that it would be criminal to subject his family to what he is cursed with. He has built a life working in the Foreign Office, along with his closest friends. When it becomes obvious that because of his work with the government, his team is in danger. But they are not the only ones in danger. One of his enemies, has come back to threaten everything that he holds dear, and endangers Isabella. The Heroine (Isabella Willoughby)
Isabella wants more from Marcus than friendship and chess player. She wants him to look at her with desire and passion. Isabella has been feeling itchy and aching for something more from her life. Something that will take her breath away. She has lived a proper life, one which everyone in society admires her for. However she wants to be with Marcus in a more scandalous way, where she could start to really live her life. She knows he would be perfect for what she wants, but he resists her continually. Isabella is determined to make sure that she gets what she wants most.. Marcus

My Thoughts
What Isabella Desires is the third in the series. I haven’t read the first two, so I was a bit lost, wondering what Marcus was into. But I was able to catch on pretty quick, but I would recommend reading this in order if possible. Although this isn’t my favorite of the author, it was a enjoyable one. It wasn’t pretty easy to get into the story, I didn’t feel like I had to force myself to read it. I felt like it had a smooth flow to the story. There was a variety of witty humor that could be very entertaining and kept this reader interested. There was a bit of suspense to the plot, but not too much to override the romance of the story. I thought it balanced out quite harmoniously. I love the way Mallory spins this romantic tale with a taste of freshness. And I will not spoil anything but there is a surprise at the end of the book that truly shocked me. A shocker that almost had me in tears, I loved how emotionally provoking this story could be at times. Marcus lives a life of secrets, and I love a man who is mysterious, and yet has a seductive appeal about him. Isabella, is thirsting for passion, and I loved how she goes after what she wants. Even though she has a sweet disposition, she also has a daring personality that we see shine through. I really enjoyed seeing these two interact with each other on a intimate level, yet there was still a friendship there. Overall a enjoyable and delightful story that brings two friends into a passionate love affair, that will dazzle you. A comfortable read to relax into. Looking forward to reading the previous books in the series.

HE HAS A WAY WITH WOMEN …

Thomas Ashe, the brooding Viscount Blackfield, is a man any lady would shun. But Patience Harrington, try as she might, has never been a proper lady. Her bumbled London season left her with no marital prospects and no recourse but to accept her father’s invitation to travel to gloomy Blackfield Castle. Surely, spending a few nights in the presence of priceless antiques and a devilish viscount can’t be as bad as facing the ton gossip.

Focused solely on his secret government project, Thomas cares little for the valuable antiques he’s recently inherited. The troublesome young woman who has come to assess them, however, stirs his senses in every way. Patience is a distraction Thomas can ill afford — a beautiful temptation that makes him ache with desire. For a spy is threatening to destroy all he has built, and Patience is hiding something. With so much at stake, Thomas must do whatever it takes to seduce the truth from Patience’s lips before lives — and his own heart — are lost.

My Review
Summary
Patience has come to Blackfield Castle, to catalogue Viscount Blackfield’s antique collect. As daughter of a man that is obsessed with Antiquities, she has learned much. So along with her cousin, they head to Blackfield’s home. When Patience first arrives, she is surprised by the current state of things. There is odd noises all hours of the day and night, some of the maids acting as if any object will attack them at will, and when she first meets the Viscount, she believes him to be a vampire. However, she knows that her mind is just playing tricks on her, even if he is arrogant and brooding enough to be one. When things start to really get interesting she decides to start to investigate the strange occurrences.   Thomas, senses that there is something strange about Patience. He suspects one of her party to be a french spy, trying to discover what he has managed to keep hidden so far. But when he finds her snooping around his castle, he thinks she is the spy, and despite the passion he feels for her…he will set out to prove her guilt and betrayal. Until love gets in the way…

The Hero ( Thomas Ashe)
Thomas, didn’t have much positive raising as a child and lost his parents at a younger age, and has recently inherited a large cache of antiquities, but is secretly working on a project for the government, but of lately there has been attempts of spies to discover what secret project he has been working on. So when a group comes to assess his  newly acquired collection, he knows that one or more will be after his project, and he must stop at nothing to protect it, and find the one’s that are threatening what he has worked so hard for.

The Heroine (Patience Harrington)
Patience, has never been what most would be called a “Proper Lady”. Patience, has never had much finesse to socialize in London’s circles. She says what is on her mind, and refuses to discuss the most boring topics like the weather and gossip. But then her ways get her in trouble, and she finds herself the center of gossip. So when her father sends her to Blackfield’s Castle, she is more than happy to do so. But when she meets Thomas, he introduces her to a world of desire and passion, the likes of which she has never known.

My Thoughts
Even though The Viscount’s Wicked Ways, was a very enjoyable read, I felt like there was something lacking. It seemed like there were so many great qualities about the story, but it didn’t fall into place very well. I really liked the playful romance that develops between Patience and Thomas. However I didn’t feel the normal spark that I usually find in Mallory’s books. There was a strong plot that is put into the story, however there wasn’t a smooth flow in the story. I really had very high expectations for this one, especially after reading the blurb and looking at the cover, I expected a remarkable read that kept my attention all through the story. However I found myself putting it down quite a few times, because I didn’t really get fully into the story. Although there were a few aspects of the story that I did enjoy. First is I did like the story line, I always love a good espionage romance, and even though this one seemed a bit off, it was still fun to see how it turns out. I did like the imagination that the author uses in the book. Overall a enjoyable read, but not a fantastic one. One to relax into, but not one to stun the reader into falling in love with it.

First Line
Patience Harrington shivered with excitement and anticipation as she stared at the massive doors adorned with pointed crowns, sinister ravens, and trailing ivy.

Favorite Quote
The Viscount let go of her and leaned negligently against the door frame. “And why would I do that? Of what do I need to take heed?” He leaned forward, his lips inches away from hers. “This is my domain, and I can take what I want…”

My Review
When I started to read For The Earl’s Pleasure, I expected it to be more like the previous book that I had read….boy was I wrong, I definitely was in for a surprise. It starts out with Valerian and Abigail getting into quite a few intense verbal sparring matches, that I definitely found amusing.  But then one eveing Valerian gets attacks and starts to appear to Abigail as a ghost. So at first I was a bit confused, because I honestly didn’t expect any paranormal aspect to this book. But I found it to be a exciting element that was added to the book. I really liked seeing these two overcome their differences and finally be honest with each other. I really liked the dangerous element that was added to it, and I just loved how this is was a paranormal Historical Romance….doesn’t happen very often, in fact its rare, and I thought Mallory did very well it putting it together in a way that draws the reader in completely and I found myself completely enthralled by the story, the characters, the suspenseful plot, and the sizzling chemistry that just about explodes. I will admit though I had a hard time getting into it with the first chapter or two, but I am surely relieved I stuck with it, because I would have missed out on a fabulously written story. So if you want a sizzling romance that will continually delight and surprise you, then this one is for you!!! You won’t regret it!! 🙂

The First Line
He was a magnificent animal. Dark and deadly in both looks and wit.

My Favorite Quote
“There’s nothing you can get from Campbell that you wouldn’t get a thousand times better from me.”
Her lips parted, but before she could form a response, his lips descended hard upon hers. Her lips felt like the softest blanket, but the strength beneath them, her vibrant personality, was even more intoxicating, drugging.

When her father loses to a card game, she is shocked to discover that her father gave her up for one night to the winner of the game. When she arrives at her destination that evening, she is stunned when she finds out the man she is to spend her night with is none other than Roman Merrick. What surprises her most is that something within the deepest part of her awakens, not only a sensual desire, but a powerful love that makes her want to keep him in her life.  Charlotte knows that their worlds are so far apart, she doesn’t know if they could have a future together. She also is afraid of being hurt, she knows that all she wants is to hold Roman in her arms and hold him forever…

The Hero ( Roman Merrick)
Roman hasn’t had the best, and has had to prove himself and make a life for himself. Roman lost his parents at the age of ten, due to a deadly disease that caused many deaths in London. Left alone, an orphan, with no home to call his own, or even family to speak of; he spends his days among the alleyways of London, where he meets Andreas, who becomes his adopted brother. Together they have built up a life that is very profitable, but has created some enemies for both of them. When he starts to court Charlotte and begin his game of seduction he never expected it to be a battle over the heart. Roman never thought that his past or current dealings would put her in danger.

So when she meets Roman she feels like she has been tossed into the whirlwind of desire and passion. She senses how dangerous he is, but he also has a heart that he keeps hidden from everyone. She knows that she deeply cares for him, and wonders if she can make the right choice : duty or love?

My Thoughts
One Night Is Never Enough is the second in the Secrets series by Anne Mallory. Now I am not sure if I have ever read from this author before now. I want to say I have, but if I had it would have been many years ago. So I am still unsure, but I am curious as to why I haven’t read more from her. She is fantastic. I loved every moment of this, I felt like I was totally involved in the story and it was so enthralling at some points it was a challenge to put it down. I read it within a day easily, and I just fell in love with this captivating tale of sensual passion and a tender love that could just break your heart. Merrick is such a dangerous hero, he doesn’t apologize for anything and from the beginning we see that once he wants Charlotte, he does everything to secure her. He has no regrets and I loved seeing such a bold hero, never afraid of anything. Charlotte is a fighter, she doesn’t cower in fear when she is suppose to spend a night with a stranger. She has no idea who he is and what will happen, and just boldly goes in, with courage and zest and doesn’t hold anything back. Frankly what happens that night really surprised me in a way. I never expected that certain outcome, but was definitely pleased and heart warmed to see such a strong hero be so tender and caring toward Charlotte. I just loved the way these two sparked and sizzled toward each other. It was such fun seeing them interact. The descriptions in the story weren’t too bad, definitely made me almost feel like it was real. I did feel like there was a strong plot that takes the reader on a wild adventure. I was totally have a jolly good time from the first page to the last page. There was such a fresh and invigorating appeal to this story that had me charmed all the way through. A Page turner that will make you feel like you are falling in love for the very first time. A True Masterpiece!!! Definitely a must read for any who loved a sensual and adventurous love story.

The First Line
She needed to slow down.

My Favorite Quotes
“I’m going to possess you, Charlotte,”
His free hand caressed the flesh of her throat, then threaded into the hair at her nape, pulling the strands there, tipping her head back. Not harshly, but not gently either. “I;m going to take you and claim you and make you beg.”
His lips were breaths from hers. Breaths she couldn’t count or take.
“The question is, will you passively accept such, or will you possess me right back,” he whispered, nearly against her lips. “Take me, claim me? Make me beg? Push from my mind any though that isn’t you?”
