Synopsis
Gargoyles abound in this sexy paranormal novel from New York Times bestselling author Christine Warren.

A prominent art restorer, Felicity is more than game to help a friend track down an obscure statue in Montreal. But when “Fil” finds it, she’s taken by surprise at how drawn she is to this statue. Attracted to it in a way a girl shouldn’t lust for a stone gargoyle, she revists it at night, longing to feel its embrace. Little does Fil know, her desire for this stone cold beast is about to heat up a notch.

Locked in stone for centuries, Spar has slept, waiting for when a human would need him. When he is awoken, Spar is taken aback to find that a human female needs his help. A very sexy woman who’s about to be the victim of a cultist attack. Saving and leaving her should be no problem. But as more questions arise, Spar knows that he cannot rest until Fil is safe in his arms

My Review

I received a ARC copy in exchange for a honest review.
Felicity can’t believe she has lowered herself to become a criminal….like a thief in night she has stolen into a art museum, to find the location of a certain gargoyle statue and take it…all thanks to her friend. But upon finding it, she comes across a creature, that tries to kill her, With her great instincts she barely survives, and finds that the gargoyle is not just any statue, he has come to life in a full rage all out to protect her, and with his claws she is more than grateful for his intervention…but she never imagined such creatures existed, especially one that makes her heart beat faster and get all the blood flowing. Spar has been locked in stone for many years, and awakens when he finds a human woman in need of his aid. Soon he discovers that things in the world have changed drastically, and evil forces are at work, and when he finds that Felicity is his mate…he is willing to do whatever it takes to keep her.

Stone Cold Lover is a book I have been waiting and waiting…and finally I had the opportunity to read and review this one. Thanks to St. Martins and Christine Warren for giving me this wonderful chance. When I read the first book…is when I fell in love with this author. And now I just can’t get enough of her. Stone Cold Lover is the second book in the series, and even though you might be able to read this as a stand alone, I would recommend reading the first one. The first book sets the stage for the series, and unless you catch on real easy, you might end up a little confused. But the author does a good job in introducing the set up of the story in this book, so you might not get too confused, but you might want to read the first book though. Just my recommendation.

The story pretty much begins from where the last book ends…so if you have read the first book, then you will love the way this one turns out.   The characters are pretty well done and their connection to each other is pretty quick…no slow and steady romance on this one. Hot and steamy from the beginning. Oh boy…these do definitely create enough heat to fog up your windows. Definitely a story that takes you on a adventure that is filled with sexy gargoyle shifters, dangerous evil creatures, a fight between good and evil, and a love story that is passionate, lively, and beyond first rate!!! Fasten your seat belts because Stone Cold Lover will take you on a ride of a lifetime!!! INCOMPARABLE!!

Synopsis
Danice Carter is not one for glass slippers. A stilettos-wearing lawyer at one of Manhattan’s most elite establishments, Danice has a very strong grip on reality. So when she’s asked by one the firm’s founding partners to take on a personal case, Danice knows she’s in for the opportunity of a lifetime. All she has to do is convince her top boss’s granddaughter, Rosemary, to file a paternity suit. Sounds simple enough…until Danice arrives at Rosemary’s home and is pounced on by a handsome stranger.

Private investigator McIntyre Callahan’s was only following his powerful client’s orders: Find Rosemary—at all costs. Instead, he’s found a super-hot lawyer prowling around looking for answers he can’t give. The half-human, half-Fae Mac tries to warn Danice that she’s way in over her head—that Rosemary may roam among The Others, and may have dangerous ties to the Unseelie Court—but she won’t be deterred. Even if that means following Mac to the ends of the earth to find Rosemary…or surrendering to his supernatural powers of temptation…until death do they part.

My Review

Danice Carter, is a attorney, and has worked hard to be working at a prestigious firm. A firm that isn’t her dream, but she is content. Then she is asked to do a important job, by the CEO of the company, a job that if she fails she will lose her job. So her client goes missing, and when she goes searching for her, in a strange mansion, she finds  herself facing a stranger, that stirs her blood. McIntyre, is a private investigator, half fae, and is searching for a missing woman, the same woman that Danice is searching for. At first he refuses to let her in on the investigation, but when she proves to be persistent, he knows he has little choice. When McIntyre and Danice journey together in the realm of the fae, A journey that they will be thrust into danger and magic, and a passion will burst between them and give them both a chance for happiness?

Prince Charming Doesn’t Live Here is the third book in the series. I have recently discovered Christine Warren, and with each book I read I fall in love with her more. This was a charming and endearing story that packs a paranormal punch. The story is a sweet and tender one, and I really enjoyed the way this author writes this one. Very different from the last book I read. We get a introduction into another form of paranormal life, we see a world of the fae–more focus on the Unseelie court. The story begins with Danice and Mac meeting in a abandoned house…and fireworks happen. There is a instant chemistry between Danice and Mac, and the story seems to fly though once these two meet.

Mac, is quite different for a hero, but there was so much to love about him. He definitely has a commanding presence, handsome and sensual, but he also has the tendency to work with others, apart from his birth fae mother that abandoned him at birth. He has close ties to family, and isn’t afraid of sharing emotion or his feelings for Danice. Danice is independent, established in her career, and has everything she thinks she needs, until she meets Mac. Danice is full of surprises, she isn’t afraid of saying what is on her mind, even when she is in great danger.  I love how spirited she is, and she isn’t one to deny the truth. I love how accepting she is of Mac and his differences. She is bold and daring and her personality is so endearing. The connection between Mac and Danice is passionate and powerful.

Overall a romance that sizzles and burns!! A charming story of magic, and a world of paranormal beings, A must read for any who love a solid romance with a kick. Sassy and Fun!!

Synopsis

Missy Roper’s fantasies have revolved around Graham Winters since the moment they met. But the imposing leader of the Silverback werewolf clan always seemed oblivious to Missy’s existence. At least he was, until Missy collides with him at a party and then abruptly runs away arousing Graham’s interest and wild desires.
Lupine law decrees that every Alpha must have a mate, and all Graham’s instincts tell him that the sensual, beguiling Missy is his. Trouble is, Missy is human every delectable inch of her. Convincing his clan that she’s his destined mate, and keeping her safe from his enemies, will be the biggest challenge Graham has ever faced. And now that he is determined to have her as his lover and as his mate Missy’s world is changing in ways she never imagined…

My Review

Graham Winter is alpha of his pack, but has yet to take a mate. At his best friends wedding party, he finds himself bored with every single woman, until he sees one gorgeous derriere, and he is captivated and he has yet to see her face, but he doesn’t care, she is His. Missy Roper is a schoolteacher, and the last thing she expected of herself is to be at this party, dressed in a dress that makes her look like a dominatrix or stripper and very not herself. So when her friends who practically forced her in this situation see her, she flees the scene only to bump into Graham Winter, the alpha and the one man that she dreams about. So she does the next unexpected thing….she shares the most sensual night of her life in his arms. Graham knows after sharing such a passionate night with Missy, that she is His, His mate, and he will do everything in his power to keep her in his life, even amidst the danger against them both….

Big Bad Wolf is the second book in the Others series, and the first time I have tried this series. I first fell in love with Christine Warren, with her more recent series, when I read Heart of Stone. When I saw that most of this series was at my local library, I decided to pick up Big Bad Wolf. I have a certain weakness for sexy wolf alphas, and after reading the blurb, I put it in my bag as quickly as possible. And after reading this in one morning, where I couldn’t put it down once, I felt like I was completely in a whirlwind of wolf shifters, sensual embraces, and quite a adventure. Now I wished I had grabbed every other book in the series LOL. Definitely can’t wait to try more of this series, and I am beyond thrilled I was able to have a chance to get my finger hooked in this story. It blew me away, I loved it so much I would recommend it to anyone that loves a solid punch romance to take your breath away.

The story starts with strong alpha male, who has probably had sex with almost every woman in his pack at least once. Graham is a physical being, and loves women until he becomes bored with them. He needs someone different and then he meets Missy and he is head over heels. Missy doesn’t consider herself alpha mate material. She views herself as just a boring schoolteacher, not daring or bold with any sort of alpha personality in any way. I feel like this story, we see her go on a journey, where she goes from a shy and reserved woman, to one that stands up for herself. And even though toward the end you still see her as reserved, she is a fighter too and will fight for her man if she has too. I really loved her friends, and I would love to read the first book especially, it seems I might be missing out on something fantastic.

Overall a tantalizing story that makes you believe in dreams coming true. A wonderful and truly romantic paranormal story with certain suspenseful twists to reel you in, until the end that completely satisfies you and you feel dazed from that twister of a sizzler of a tale. ENTERTAINING ALL THE WAY THROUGH!!! You are missing out if you haven’t read any book from this author.

Synopsis
From bestselling author Christine Warren comes a thrilling new series about a young woman caught between a rock and a hard place—between gargoyles and demons…

Ella Harrow is trying to carve out a normal life for herself. Well, as normal as an art geek with psychic abilities can hope for. As museum docent and gift-shop manager, Ella is able to keep her distance from people—and her powers in check—while surrounding herself with the artifacts she loves. But how on earth is she supposed to act normal when a thousand-year-old statue on the museum’s terrace suddenly comes to life?

Heart of Stone

Not your ordinary gargoyle, Kees has been asleep for eons, waiting for a portent of evil to wake him from his slumber. Kees isn’t a vision; he’s a bat-winged guardian created to protect the world from the seven demons of the Dark. Somehow, Ella triggered his reawakening. Maybe the demons have been unleashed? Maybe his heart is finally ready to be chiseled open? The fate of the world isn’t carved in stone…yet.

My Review

Ella is not normal like everyone surrounding her. Ella possesses psychic ability, but one she keeps under wraps. Ever since her parents died in a fatal accident that she believes is her fault in her failure to keep a tight leash on her powers, she does everything possible to hide them, even from herself. One evening while working at a museum, she is attacked, and a gargoyle statue comes to life saving her. Kees is a guardian in the shape of a gargoyle, keeping demons away. His duty is to protect and destroy evil, but then he is awakened by a woman’s cry, and every protective instinct he has goes into overdrive. He never expected to be put asleep for hundreds of years, or that he would yearn for this woman who fires his blood in a way he has never felt before. Ella is shocked to discover that certain gargoyles aren’t normal statues, they are guardians, and the world is in trouble. That Kees and his fellow guardians are the only ones that stand in the way between evil demons and humanity. It will take Kees and Ella working together to destroy a enemy that seems to surround them on all sides, will they be able to rely on each other and their abilities, to survive the coming battle on the horizon or be destroyed?

I was able to obtain a copy of this ARC through St Martins Press via Netgalley. I only received this a few weeks ago, and after reading some amazing reviews, I knew I had to pick it up. I love shifter romances, and I was intrigued by the “gargoyle” theme this author has going here. The story starts out tame and normal, where nothing abnormal ever happens right? well, the story quickly escalates into a fierce battle of good vs. evil. After Ella gets attacked, Kees stays by her side, with a full Alpha Male personality calling her “Mine” whenever she attempts to get back to her normal routine. Kees is very old and has lived for centuries, and so he is bound to cause complications for a modern day woman right? Well their relationship is tested when evil stalks them, and as they search for aid in helping Ella develop her powers more, they start to realize how dire the situation is. That they, currently, are the only ones that have a chance to defeat the demons that are intent are destroying every guardian and mage out there, that are fighting to protect humanity. The story line is quite full of suspenseful scenes and dramatic action that heats the blood. Danger is around every corner, and my heart just went out to Kees and Ella for not getting much of a break. I enjoyed seeing the intense tone to the plot that kept me on the edge the whole way through.

Now let me talk a bit about the characters involved in the story. The two main characters, Kees and Ella, are wonderful together. From beginning to end there is a sizzling desire that you feel from the first moment Kees has been awakened. Kees is somewhat unique as far as shifters go, since he can turn from a stone beast to a gorgeous hunk of a male in a instant. He is from a older time, so has strong possessive traits especially when it comes to the one woman that matters more than life to him. I have to say that Kees definitely raised the heat meter sky high. There wasn’t anything I disliked about him. He adapts quickly to modern life and I love the way he compromises with Ella time from time, but at others, their fights could be catastrophe at times–but enjoyable at the same time. Now Ella….how do I describe her adequately enough or how much I liked her spunk. One of my favorite aspects of Ella as the heroine is the inner strength she has, but her vulnerabilities that shine through and make her so real to the reader. Ella is the perfect mate for Kees, strong and capable, passionate and full of zeal for life. She brought such zest to the story and I enjoyed the sparks between this couple that never seemed to end. They also seemed to be a solid fighting couple too, especially considering what a novice Ella is.

Overall a surprisingly intense paranormal romance that will set you on a roller coaster of delights, twist and turns, dangers around every corner, and a plot guaranteed to give you a thrill of a adventure!! Hold tight, because Heart of Stone will give you a ride of a lifetime of two people that have discovered a fierce love while battling the greatest evil that threatens the destruction of the world!!!
