New York Times bestselling author Lori Wilde returns to Cupid, Texas, and asks the question: Do you ever forget your first love?

Melody Spencer had long-ago wiped the dust of Cupid, Texas, off her cute shoes . . . and done her best to forget the chiseled jaw and strong arms of cowboy Luke Spencer. Their families might be part of a long-time feud, but he was her very first love, even if it turned out they never wanted the same things.

But now Luke’s come striding back into her life, tempting her with the memories of long, lazy evenings and hot, passionate kisses. And he has an ulterior motive—as Mayor of Cupid, he knows Melody’s business savvy can help save their beloved hometown. His smooth talking might get her to Texas, but that doesn’t mean he’ll get her in his bed. Still, people do say love can be more perfect the second time around…(

My Review

Luke and Melody both fell in love in their teens, but their families that had a feud that could rival Romeo and Juliet’s family feud. Even though Luke and Melody had strong feelings for each other, they couldn’t risk the wrath of their families which they felt a portion of when Luke’s brother ends up killed in a accident and they are blamed. So Melody leaves Cupid, and heads to New York to pursue her dreams. So she leaves and focuses on her career. Now years have passed, and Melody has set up a life for herself, but when her boss fires her for being too honest, and her boyfriend dumps her all in one day, she thinks it can’t get any worse, until Luke strolls into her life asking for her help to save Cupid. Cupid, even though a small town, she stills cares about the quaint town, and the people that live there. So feeling that she has no other option, she decides to join Luke in trying to save the town, it doesn’t help matters when he starts seducing her again, and her walls around her around start to come falling down, when she begins to dream of having a future with the only cowboy that ever held her heart, but will they be able to face the fires of fury from their families when the truth comes out?

Love With A Perfect Cowboy is a wonderful addition to the Cupid Texas Series by Lori Wilde. I do love romances with a twist, and this book has a big one. This story emulates Romeo and Juliet’s family feud only, there is a HEA eventually. I really love the way this story was written. The Family Feud adds quite a bit intense conflict to the story. From the beginning in the story we see a connection between Luke and Melody, but Melody fears falling in love with him again, because their first time ended up in disaster. But she is determined to save her hometown at any cost.

Luke is one sexy cowboy, confident, likes control, mayor of the town, and set on seducing his first love. What is more romantic right? Melody is independent and willful, and passionate. I enjoyed seeing these two come together, and how fun they can be together. Their connection is instantaneous but because of their families, they don’t let themselves accept their feelings until they are ready to risky all for love. I love how emotional this story got. My only complaint is the inconsistency of the plot. It feel like at times I was fully into it, and then at other times I couldn’t put it down. One of my favorite aspects of the story was the setup of the story. I do love a conflict that just pulls you instantly into the story. And let me tell you if you adore conflicts just as I do, this story is packed with conflict from beginning to end. And the ending is Magnifique and mind blowing!! A beautiful story about true love that conquers all even a feuding family, where Luke and Melody may be the key to bringing peace to the families. A story full of passion, zest, and a sweet love story to bring tears to your eyes!!

There’s no way they can ignore the explosive chemistry seething between them . . . even if it means risking their friendship..

My Review

Jericho and Zoe have been best friends since they were children, but when Jericho comes back to town for a job, things start to escalate more than friendship. The last thing that Jericho wishes to do is ruin their friendship, but for quite some time he has been in love with Zoe. Zoe has decided that after having multiple career changes, she has finally decided on being a Archaeologist. However the guardian in charge of her trust fund has told her she can’t just quit, she has to see it through. If she does quit, he will cut her off from her funds, believing her to be flighty, and unable to stick with anything. However Zoe is desperate to prove her family wrong, to show them that when she really wants something she can stick with it. When circumstances start to heat up between Zoe and Jericho, a complication comes up. Jericho’s new job is the new professor for the job dig, and Zoe is his student. So if they are caught together, Jericho will be fired, and he can’t afford it on his record. As they work on the site together, it becomes that much harder to stay apart, and Jericho doesn’t know if he will be strong enough to stop from kissing her or making love to her.

Somebody To Love is the third installment in the Cupid Texas Series that is fairly new by Lori Wilde. I recently discovered this author, when I received a review copy of her first two books. The first two books in the series I fell in love with instantly. Somebody To Love however was a bit different, I had a bit of a harder time reading it. It didn’t take very long, however I couldn’t get fully into the story as I like to when I am reading a romance. I felt a little detached, and I am not sure if its just become I have a harder time liking contemporaries or if it was the actual story. It started out pretty good, I didn’t have a difficult time starting up the story, but as it got toward the midway of the story, I felt like it started to drag a bit. But then as I trudged through the story, it picked up again.

There was a few aspects that I enjoyed about Somebody To Love. The first is the sweet love story that is prevalent through the story. I found that it starts off with Zoe and Jericho have no problem to connect, since they grew up together. In the beginning I felt these two were a bit frustrating, not wanting to admit to each other how much they love each other, and want more than friendship. A blind man could see what they are afraid of admitting to each other. Then when they do, their relationship gets put on hold because of Jericho’s new job which he can’t afford to lose. As the story progressed further, I enjoyed seeing the little twists and turns, and it definitely surprised me. There was a bit of a mystery/suspense aspect in the plot that made it more than just a simple love story. I always enjoy a love story when there is more to it than just that. I love a exciting conflict that gets you at the edge at times. I found the conflict in this story wasn’t over done, although you don’t really realize the conflict until toward the end and I will warn you it might shock you, but in a delightful way. The characters were fun and engaging, however Zoe I had a small issue with. I loved Jericho, very sensual but protective and I love the way he was toward Zoe, willing to sacrifice everything for her. However I felt Zoe was a bit blah, she didn’t really dazzle me in any way, in fact I was a bit disappointed in this heroine. She was very independent, but I thought she was flaky at times, especially in the first half of the story. In the second half I started to enjoy her a bit more, but I didn’t fall in love with her.

Overall I found Somebody To Love a lovely addition to the Cupid series by Lori Wilde. I felt like there could have been a bit more in the beginning of the story to really draw in the reader, but other than that I enjoyed Jericho and Zoe’s story. There was quite a bit of sensuality, sweet moments, and charming plot to engage you in the story. Not entirely remarkable, but a enjoyable read on a lazy afternoon.

Synopsis
In the first in a dazzling new series, Lori Wilde welcomes us to Cupid, Texas, where every wish for love comes true . . .

“When it hits, you just know . . .”

Natalie McCleary couldn’t believe her eyes—a lean-muscled, darkly tanned, nearly naked man stood in her path . . . and then it hit her: love. Everyone always told her it would hit like a thunderbolt, and she never believed them. But now she knew: practical, sensible Natalie was head over heels in love—with a stranger.

But ex-Navy SEAL Dade Vega wasn’t about to be a stranger for long. He’d ridden into Cupid on his motorcycle, vowing to keep a promise he’d made to a military buddy. But a single glimpse of Natalie—soaking wet and unexpectedly tempting—changed his life forever.

But how can he offer her his love, when he can’t even promise to stay in one place for longer than a week?

My Review

His life has changed forever now that he has found a woman he can give his heart to and he plans on keeping her by his side for the rest of his life.

My Thoughts
Oh how can I count the words of how much I loved thee!!! I ADORED this book. I was given this ARC through Avon and Edelweiss and can I say….why haven’t I read this author before??? Lately though I have been not in the mood for a contemporary at all, but I thought I needed to give this one a shot, especially since I love any western style whether its historical or contemporary. When I read the blurb at first, I had my reservations–for one reason the theme of “love at first sight”. I am not a full believer that Love at first sight is real or happens really, boy did I have it all wrong. This story made me believe in it, there was so much powerful and evoking emotions put through this story that became so real in such a way that it endeared me completely. The story begins with us seeing a little bit of a background on both characters, which helped quite a bit, and then it starts with these two seeing each other for the first time. I swear, and this was at the beginning of the book, I felt like it was 90 degree weather, (its Utah here, and its been raining and pouring lol ) the chemistry was instantaneous and firework explosive. I felt tingles and shivers and the more this couple interacts, they become almost explosive. The sub characters were charming and just added a fun element to the story. There were quite a few scenes that I just loved, however I secretly loved the banana pie scene, definitely knocked me over with delight, and I just wanted to swoon. (if you want to know what that entails…you need to read it to find out…I promise you WONT regret any of it!!) I do want to point out that this wasn’t only a love story, there was a suspenseful and mystery element to it, that only increased my fascination with the book. I found the characters lively and charming, the story sweet and poignant, and the sexual side very sensual at times, but not too much to overshadow the love story, which I found to be utterly captivating!!! A story to charm your pants off!!! READ IT, you won’t regret it!!!

First Line
Dear Cupid, The most awesomely awful thing has happened. I have fallen truly, madly, deeply in love.
