Synopsis (Goodreads)
It has been prophesied that four men, raised as brothers, will bring Scotland back to her rightful glory. The first is running for his life.

Charged with the restoration of Scotland’s one true king, Duncan MacAlpin isn’t surprised to find himself fleeing an army across the verdant hills of his homeland. But having to do so while shackled to a woman . . . that is a true challenge to Duncan’s ingenuity and self-control. For the lovely, untouched maiden he’s chained to is far too captivating to resist.

Despite her innocence, Mercy guards her own dangerous secrets. Proud and unafraid–hunted and imperiled for who she is and what she knows–she is determined to regain her freedom and never let it be taken from her again. Yet locked so tightly to her imposed escort, tempted by the warmth of the powerful Highlander’s body, she aches to give herself over completely to desire . . . and risk the heart she has fought so hard to protect.

My Review

Summary
Duncan, gets caught by the king’s soldiers and finds himself chained to her side. He knows that they will be killed very soon. Chained to her side, he admires this woman’s courage and tenacity. When they manage to escape the soldiers, just barely, they are on the run, trying to hide from the soldiers that hunt them. Duncan has a important mission, and being chained to Mercy is a challenge, but a delightful one. He finds himself captivated by her beauty and strength of spirit. Mercy is running from a past that has haunted her. She feels a deep connection to Duncan, a attraction that she can’t deny. Even though a part of her knows, they could never have a future together, all she wants is to embrace the precious time they have left.

The Hero
Duncan has always know of what his true purpose has been. He is part of the four, to bring the true king to Scotland and restore back their honor. Duncan has always known that he would someday find his true love and have a family, even though he has a vital mission to complete. When he ends up on the run with a beautiful woman who is literally chained to his side. He starts to feel a powerful desire for this woman whose courage rivals his own. He will do everything to protect her…

The Heroine
Mercy, has been on the run, from those that would kill her. She is also the bastard daughter of the current king. Now she is chained to a highlander named Duncan, who is unlike any man she has ever met. Mercy has been sheltered from other men, and until now has never been alone with one in this way. Mercy, has a strong will to survive, even though the king wants her dead. With Duncan, on her side, she feels that together, they have a chance to survive.

My Thoughts
Having read the three other books in the Warrior  King series, I very much was looking forward to reading Duncan’s story. I think from the first few pages of the story, I was captivated by these two characters, I couldn’t help but like them from the start. Duncan, is part of the four brothers where one of them will become the true King. It starts out with Duncan and Mercy being chained from the first page. Then after that, the real adventure begins. I have to say both of them handled being chained together very well. Mercy, is a very strong young woman, and can be just as fierce as Duncan. (Which was very enjoyable to see them together). I loved the way the story was written with creative scenes that could make one laugh numerous times. The love story that develops was a sweet and passionate one. The sex scenes were very hot and sexy. I really liked the way the plot unravels in such a way that captivates the reader and keeps you fully entertained until the end. I found Bound To A Warrior a delectable read, and one I had a hard time putting down. One that will be capture your heart!!

First Sentence
Duncan tumbled down hard onto the woman.

Quotes I Enjoyed

“He surprised himself when without forethought, he slipped his arm around her waist and drew her up against him, settling his mouth close to hers. “Love ,” He whispered  Love lasts forever.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Long, lazy kissses, soft, exploring touches and endless hours of lovemaking.
Damn he was in trouble.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Look at all that food, Duncan,” Mercy said and eagerly licked her lips.
He leaned close to her ear and whispered, “And here I thought you only had a taste for me,”
Her warm cheek stung his cool one as she pressed it against his. “I’m saving the tastiest, most delicious for last.”
“Now you’re really tempting me,” he warned

HE RULED BY THE BOOK
Wealthy California rancher Rafael Cabrillo bad broken some of the wildest stallions and mares, and now those docile animals obeyed his every command. The imperious aristocrat expected his people to behave the same way, so Rafael was outraged when a buxom barefoot chit “borrowed” his favorite horse and then dared to disobey him! Determined to subdue the willful gypsy girl, be followed her to the vineyard, but his stern purpose evaporated when he spied her eating grapes and licking the sweet juice from her lips. He knew he must steal a kiss from that sweet mouth, caress every curve of that sun-warmed body, and tame the rebellious vixen with caresses until she begged to be taken to the heights of ecstasy–on his terms!

SHE LOVED FROM THE HEART
Gabriella was astonished when the outraged senor made such a fuss, just because she galloped off on his borne to rescue her little brother. And when the authoritarian ranchero insisted that she atone for her crime by working at his hacienda–and wearing shoes!–she couldn’t help but laugh, which made him even angrier. Vowing never to serve anyone, she defied his commands every chance she got–until she felt his strong arms crushing her against his powerful chest. And when she tasted his first searing kiss, Gabriella longed to feel the length of his virile body touching her own fiery flesh and to surrender to the rapture of love’s ultimate embrace–just this once!

My Review

Summary
When a barefoot slip of a girl steals Don Cabrillo’s prized horse, he is furious and wants to put her in her place as soon as he gets a hold of her. Rafael demands that Gabriella serve out her punishment as his mother’s companion for six months at the hacienda and to obey his every command; Rafael not fully realizing how much she would turn his world or order into a world of Chaos and confusion. Gabriella, desperate to save her younger brother, borrows Senor Rafel’s horse, never knowing how much trouble she would end up in. Gabriella is a free spirit but finds Rafael’s way stifling and is determined to show him the meaning of Fun….even if it might kill her in the process…But when a mystery comes to haunt her and her past, with the help of Rafael, Gabriella learns to trust in Rafael and to learn the power of love….

The Hero
Rafael, Don Cabrillo, leads his people with a firm and solid hand, with no change, because that is the way its always been and he likes it that way. He hates surprises and unexpected changes. He expects obedience from everyone….the servants, his mother and especially disrespectful chits who drive him up the wall…..Gabriella baffles Rafael and confuses him because of his strong attraction to her. Especially since her willfulness amuses him more so than gets him furious and he finds he quite enjoys her playful ways, even if he thinks he is going crazy…..and he doesn’t want to keep resisting her playful personality that only captivates him….

The Heroine
Gabriella, is shocked when Don  Cabrillo accuses her of stealing his horse and refuses to even listen to why she had done so…and much to her dismay she is to serve for six long months. Gabriella starts to feel like a prisoner inside the Hacienda, and knows she is only doing this to protect her family….but Rafael makes her feel alive and makes her want to do the most outrageous things….and despite his domineering and interfering way she can’t help but fall in love with him….

My Thoughts
Every time that I read Donna Fletcher I am astounded by how much I have enjoyed her stories, and Untamed Fire was surpisingly good considering I wasn’t too enthusiastic when I first started…however from the first few pages I was utterly captivated by this magical story that stole its way into my heart. One of the things that I found unique about Untamed Fire…is the circumstances surrounding this book. Its rare to find a setting which is in the early 1900’s, and dealing with the Arisocracy from Spain…in fact this is probably one of the few books that I have read dealing with any characters originating from Spain, so it was very refreshing. Untamed Fire produced many different aspects, but one that I really liked was how spirited the characters were.  There were also many scenes that made me laugh and cry…Gaby was such a fun and endearing character with a zest for life, and I just liked her instantly…..she didn’t have an obedient bone in her body and I loved how she stood up to Rafael, and showed him the meaning of the word ‘fun’. Overall a fun and enjoyable romance, an excellent story line, endearing characters that will charm you and a love story that will sing to your heart. I can hardly wait for the next upcoming release sequel ‘Renegade Love’…..

Scottish Highland Historical Romance

It has been prophesied that four men, raised as brothers, will bring Scotland back to her rightful glory. It is time for the second to take up his sword.
When a Highland warrior fights, he fights for honor. And when Reeve MacAlpin sees a beautiful stranger surrounded by bandits, he does not hesitate to do the honorable thing and dispatch her would-be assailants. But at her first grateful touch, his instinct to keep her safe is surpassed by a longing to keep her close . . . and to fulfill her every desire.
For as long as Tara can remember, she has lost the people she loves most–a curse that is sure to doom anyone who shows her kindness. She can never love without bringing death–and though her powerful Highlander champion tempts her beyond imagining, she fears that to give herself to him means his downfall. And yet she knows she must tempt Fate . . . for to resist him would be just as unthinkable.

My Review
Summary
When Reeve, finds a lone woman surrounded by thieves, defenseless and outnumbered, knowing he can’t leave her to their mercy, he comes in and saves her from them, even not knowing who she truly is or the danger she may pose to him. Tara, has had to live a very lone existence, but when she meets Reeve, she knows that her life will be different. After being cursed when she was a young girl, she has lost two husbands, and has been labeled the “Death Bride” and having been forced out of her clan, and her family. Now on her way to marry again at her father’s demand, she is accosted by thieves wanting her bride price, and is stunned when a handsome and very capable warrior saves her. Even though there is a instant ‘spark’ that fly’s between them, she knows she needs to maintain a distance in order to save his life, but as their journey progresses and they draw even closer to each other, Tara will have to put her faith in their love, since it will be the only thing that could save Reeve from certain death….

The Hero ( Reeve MacAlpin)
Reeve, the second of the four brothers, is determined to make sure he does all that he can to bring the rightful king in place, and his missions are vital, and when he meets Tara, his missions are put on hold, when he see’s how much trouble she is in, he decides to take her to his clan and his family, knowing how much she needs a home and a family, and time to convince her that love is powerful enough to outwit any curse no matter the circumstances.

The Heroine (Tara)
Tara, ever since she was young has lived in fear and guilt, and after all that she has gone through, she knows that whatever she feels for Reeve can’t go anywhere, not if she wants him to live. But she can’t forget how much he makes her feel alive, in a way she has never felt before. Tara is desperate to find any solution to resolve this curse that has been placed on her, no matter what she has to do or sacrifice to save Reeve’s life.

My Thoughts
Loved By A Warrior is the second in the Warrior King series, and I think I just fell in love with this one. After seeing Reeve and Tara in A Warrior’s Promise, I was very glad to read their story, and it was even better than I expected. From the first paragraph I was hooked. I really like the connection you see from the beginning, and even there were a couple aspects of the story that could be repetitious it was a very likable and enjoyable read. Reeve, is very protective of Tara and doesn’t believe in curses, and just believe they are a myth, but he has a lot of faith in his love for her, I found him to be very appealing, especially as the story progressed.  Tara I liked in the beginning and the end, but I think the one thing I didn’t like was that she was too selfless at times, and it became repetitious at times, but I really liked at how the story plays out in the end, and I found myself fully satisfied, and wishing it hadn’t ended, and I am very much looking forward to reading the last one in the series, especially if its anything like the two books I have read so far. A completely endearing and loveable story with characters that will just win your heart over!!!

Or will he discover that promising your heart is the bravest mission of all?

My Review
Summary Charlotte, has lived most of her life protecting herself and her father, now he has been taken by King Kenneth’s soldiers, and now she is desperate to find her father at any cost. So she decides to dress like a boy, so its easier to go about the countryside in search of her beloved father. Then she runs into Bryce MacAlpin, who only see’s her as “Charles”. Bryce, can’t believe that he is willing to help this urchin, when he needs to focus on his special quest to restore the true King to power, however there is something about Charles he can’t put his finger on, but knows he needs to help him find his father. But when he finds out that Charles is not a boy at all but a beautiful woman…he can’t resist the desire he feels for her, and he will have to choose between the duty to his family and country, or the love he feels for Charlotte.

The Hero (Bryce MacAlpin)Bryce is one of the four brothers, that will restore Scotland to glory and to what it was meant to be, and he is totally committed to his duty and to his family, in restoring the true king in his rightful place, and finding a spy. Bryce is a fierce warrior and protector of those that are innocent, when he realizes that Charles is really a woman, he knows he is in trouble, for her beauty and talents, are too irresistable to resist and before he realizes it he knows he is falling in love with her.

The Heroine (Charlotte Semple)Charlotte, ever since she was young, has had to learn to fight, to defend herself and protect her father. Charlotte after losing her mother young, loves her father fiercely and will do all she can to rescue him, no matter the danger. When she runs into Bryce, she knows her life will change forever, for he is the first man she has ever desired. Before she knows it, she is in love with him, and even though she is on a mission to save her father from torture and death, she also can’t help the feelings she has for Bryce which could be her downfall.

My Thoughts A Warrior’s Promise is the third in the Warrior King Series, and the first I have been able to read in the series so far, and I am totally hooked. Its been a while since I have read from this author, but I have enjoyed her stories, and this was is one of my favorites of her works. I really enjoyed the characters, including the side characters (Bryce’s Family), very entertaining and full of life, they almost seemed real. The story kinda started out slow, but once I got into the story it really picked up speed, and I found myself not able to put it down. Bryce, is the kind of hero, the just makes you want to gobble him up and keep him chained in your bedchamber LOL. He is utterly irresistable, protective, and a tender and caring lover, but very dedicated to family and honor, who could resist such a man?? Charlotte, is not your usual heroine, she has had to fight to survive, she is brave and yet she does have a softer side as well, and I couldn’t help but love her to pieces, she had qualities that were very endearing. The plot was exciting and definitely had some unexpected surprises, that fully satisfied me. Overall A Warrior’s Promise, was a exciting and fun read, with moments of suspense and passion and I can hardly wait to read the rest of the series. A Romance You Have To Read!!!!
