My Review

My Lady, My Lord, is a new release from Katharine Ashe. Now I can’t believe I have had this book on my Nook for months and I am just now getting to it. But this author keeps winning me over, and I knew I had to try this one out. This story I think, is part of a series, but have no idea what it is called and what the series is about…yet. Or it could be a single title. I wouldn’t mind seeing this turned into a series though. This story was very unique, especially with it being a Regency romance. It is very lightheart and sexy fun, but it has a certain twist you don’t expect. Now this review is going to be shorter than normal, due to the fact that I don’t want to spoil anything for readers that have yet to read this and want to. What I will say was this was quite a ride…I loved the turns of the plot, and the sizzling chemistry between Corinna and Ian. Whew….their interactions alone can set ablaze a forest fire. They have some tension and not all of it sexual, although as you read you see that all their bickering and name calling, it boils down to their attraction for each other. No surprise right? Well I loved the way that this author formatted this story and I was being constantly surprised and I loved the way that Ashe weaves a sensual story that is breathtaking, passionate, and magical.

Yet there was a time when she’d risked everything for a black-eyed gypsy who left her brokenhearted. Now he stands before her—dark, virile, and ready to escort her on a journey to find the truth about her heritage.

Leaving eleven years ago should have given Taliesin freedom. Instead he’s returned to Eleanor, determined to have her all to himself, tempting her with kisses and promising her a passion she’s so long denied herself. But if he was infatuated before, he’s utterly unprepared for what will happen when Eleanor decides to abandon convention—and truly live.

My Review

I received a ARC copy in exchange for a honest review, thanks to Edelweiss and Avon Books.
Eleanor, has always been the upstanding vicar’s daughter, upstanding and intelligent and always devoted to her studies. She has never crossed the line, but inside she dreams of adventures and the one man that inspires and makes her dream of wicked delights, the sexy as sin gypsy, Taliesin. Taliesin, once loved Eleanor and would have done anything for her, but then she broke his heart without even realizing it, so he left and now after eleven years, after being summoned to a wedding, he can’t resist her. All he has ever wanted was Eleanor, despite the danger she causes to his fragile heart. Eleanor is on the hunt for her real parents, and Taliesin is her companion, even though he left without a word eleven years ago, she finds him irresistible, and now she has to work with him, and temptation is right before her, will she be able to resist or give into the greatest adventure of her life…

I have to say that Katharine Ashe has outdone herself in this series. Every single installment I have adored, and this final installment is no different.  This story really tugged at my heartstrings from the beginning, and I had such a difficult time putting this one down. I wasn’t sure at the beginning how much I would enjoy it, but I never should doubt Ashe’s abilities especially when it comes to writing romances…she has done a outstanding job of creating a tale of heartwarming characters and a story to enthrall and scenes to constantly engage the reader.

It begins with a wedding of the daughter’s adopted father, the Vicar of the town. When a guest appear, with those dark sensual eyes who sees within the deepest part of her, Eleanor is definitely overcome with feelings she never thought to feel again. But then she is practically coerced to have Taliesin as her companion in her search for her parents, and where they really came from. There are things we learn about Taliesin and Eleanor, a unique setting and what a fun couple. They were so unique to the series, and quite frankly I love sexy Gypsy’s…a man that can get a woman to have adventure and want to spread her wings. I loved both of them as main characters, they added a certain dramatic element to the story that becomes the center of the story. I really had no complaints where they were concerned. The hero is mysterious, protective and sensual. The heroine is stubborn, strong willed and passionate…put them together and you have explosions of the nuclear nature. They definitely have chemistry but one other quality they have in common, is denying their feelings for each other. They are very insistent to go separate ways, despite how much they love each other, and what a way this story seemed to convulse and form as these two rediscovered passion together and their deep feelings for one another.

Overall a stunning and riveting romance that had me at the edge all day…a tale to not forget, of two people in need of desire and adventure and find that their dreams come true if they have faith in one another…OUTSTANDING!!

Three very different sisters beguile society with their beauty and charm, but only one of them must fulfill a prophecy: marry a prince. Who is the mystery Prince Charming, and which sister will be his bride?

All that clever, passionate Ravenna Caulfield wants is to stay far away from high society’s mean girls.

All that handsome, heroic Lord Vitor Courtenay wants is to dash from dangerous adventure to adventure.

Now, snowbound in a castle with a bevy of the ton‘s scheming maidens all competing for a prince’s hand in marriage, Ravenna’s worst nightmare has come true.

Now, playing babysitter to his spoiled prince of a half-brother and potential brides, Vitor is champing at the bit to be gone.

When a stolen kiss in a stable leads to a corpse in a suit of armor, a canine kidnapping, and any number of scandalous liaisons, Ravenna and Vitor find themselves wrapped in a mystery they’re perfectly paired to solve. But as for the mysteries of love and sex, Vitor’s not about to let Ravenna escape until he’s gotten what he desires . . .

My Review

Ravenna Caulfield, is one of the three sisters, was raised on a humble farm and has a great love for animals. Ravenna has been brought to a country house, with a few other young ladies, to try to catch the eye of the prince.  While exploring the barn she stumbles across some puppies, and finds a runt that she would love to keep. Then a strange man enters and they stumble across each other, which leads to a sensual kiss, but leads them to coming across a dead corpse in a suit of armor. Soon Ravenna and Vitor start working together to find the murderer. Vitor is the brother of the prince, and has been brought here to watch over the potential brides but there is one potential that draws his eye like no other. She stirs fire in his blood and he just can’t get her out of his mind. When intrigue and mystery force them to work together, he seems a woman with deep passion and resolutions, one who has dreams and a beautiful soul. If only he can convince her of his love and devotion, then they might have a somewhat normal relationship….or maybe not!!

I Adored A Lord is the second book the in Prince Catcher series. This series is based on a sisterhood, who are told that one of them will marry a prince, a prince that holds the answers to their true identities. In this story there isn’t much focus on that  at all, not like the first book was anyway. But I still enjoyed myself quite a bit in this one. The focus on this story was mainly solving a murder, and the romance that develops between Ravenna and Vitor. Vitor is quite a character, he is one determined man, and still goes after his “prey” after she has bitten and attacked him just for kissing her. Ravenna is the type of heroine you just like….she is feisty, and has lived in humble means, she has never known wealth or prestige. She adores animals and people even. She has a sensitive heart and I liked her from the start. She doesn’t have a hidden exterior, she shows her true self every moment and I loved that. She wasn’t afraid to show her true self. Their relationship is very slow going, but starts to pick up more the more they get closer to solving the murder. My only thing I wished there was more focus on was their romance….it was a good one, but I felt like something was missing. It just needed a bit more but I did enjoy this story quite a bit, and I can’t wait to read the third sisters book.

Overall a charming and sweet read, with a mix of danger and mystery….with some sensuality and desire rolled into a quality read. Be ready to be drawn into a story of adventure, intrigue and stimulating romance!! LOVED it!!!

Duncan has no intention of wedding the meddlesome maiden, and he gives her a deadline even the most audacious matchmaker can’t meet—one month. But Teresa sets terms, too: with each bridegroom she finds, the earl must pay her increasingly intimate rewards . .

My Review
I have only read a book or two from this author, previously to reading How To Marry A Highlander. I have enjoyed her stories in the past, so I was looking forward to this novella. It is a bit short, 100 pages, but surprsingly was pretty well done, and wasn’t too rushed as I expected it to be. It definitely had a fun flair of dramatics and passionate mystery that engages the reader fully into the story. I found the idea of their “wager” intriguing and the connection between Duncan and Teresa instataneous and I couldn’t help but find the situation humorous and full of laughs. It was interesting seeing his sisters reaction to Teresa, and definitely was on their side. When a smart and cunning woman is involving in getting what she wants, a lone man has zero chance!! Although I did enjoy seeing him trying anyway. A fun and witty story that will capture your attention!! If you are looking for a short yet sweet romantic tale, definitely worth the read!!!
