Synopsis
On a mission to rescue his runaway sister from the lure of flowery compliments and a useless lot of satin-clad scalawags disguised by their snooty titles, Ranulf MacLawry, Marquis of Glengask, has roared into British society like a storm across the Highlands. But he’s about to find out that satin has its appeal, especially when it covers the curves of Miss Lady Charlotte Hanover—whose tongue is as sharp as her skin is soft…

Lady Charlotte Hanover has had her fill of hot-headed men, having lost her fiancé in an utterly unnecessary duel. When did brawn ever triumph over brains? And yet there is something solid and appealing about the brash Highlander who’s as dangerous in the ballroom as in battle. Sometimes bigger really is better…

My Review

Lady  Charlotte Hanover is still recovering from losing her fiancee to a duel gone bad. She is only looking for someone respectable, English and reserved. Someone that isn’t a hot head. While helping out a fellow young woman explore London and begin her season, a big burly Scot comes bursting into her home demanding his sisters safe return. Charlotte is outraged and isn’t afraid of telling this brute exactly what she thinks and she will defend Winnie no matter what. Ranulf, is laird, and is in charge of many, but the one who is top on his list to protect is his family. So when his sister flees to London, he is determined to bring her back home, kicking and screaming if necessary. But his plans change when he meets Charlotte, who is stubborn and interfering, and doesn’t know the meaning of his word as law. Well he wants to show this Lady Charlotte the error of her ways, but before long passions ignite, and a love blooms and Ranulf will have to fight for Lady Charlotte, who has wormed her way into his heart.

The Devil Wears Kilts is the first book in this new series by Suzanne Enoch. Now I have been meaning to read this one for quite some time. For years I have adored this author, and when I had a hard time reading a book from one of her other more recent series, and it didn’t meet my expectations, I wondered if I would like this author again….well this series has blown me out of the water. I recently had the chance to read the second book, and I was impressed, which only made me itchy to get my hands on this one. Some ride this one was….I love a sexy Scot…but Laird, and has little manners and a brogue to die for, and he does some pretty whopping kisses to…what I would give to jump into this story and trade spots with Charlotte!!

The story is pretty solid and steady all the way through and I had no issues with it at all. It starts off pretty quick and be careful, or you might be dragged into the story way quicker than you think–which is just the way that I like it though. Both of the characters are pretty bold and daring, and not afraid of anything at all. which made them quite explosive at times together. They know how to do a heated arguments, but the making up in the story is priceless. I enjoyed seeing these two really come together and the story was fast paced but not too rushed, and I had no issue staying with them as you see them develop a deeper connection to each other. There is some danger involved in the story that only ramped up the feeling of excitement.

A story that is richly filled with enticing characters, intrigue, a bit of Scottish culture and history thrown in the mix, and a tale of love and loyalty and the sense of family. THRILLING!!

Synopsis
A Rogue For Every Lady

London, 1817: Stuck in a Mayfair ballroom, thanks to his lovestruck brother, Highlander Arran MacLawry wants nothing but a bit of distraction from an arranged betrothal—and a clever auburn-haired lass in a vixen’s mask promises just that . . . until he discovers that she’s the granddaughter of the Campbell, chief of clan MacLawry’s longtime rival. Despite their families’ grudging truce, falling for fiery Mary Campbell is a notion too outlandish even for this Highlander…

The Thrill Of The Forbidden

Raised on tales of savage MacLawrys, Mary is stunned to realize the impressively strapping man in the fox’s mask is one of them. Surely the enemy shouldn’t have such a broad chest, and such a seductive brogue? Not that her curiosity matters—any dalliance between them is strictly forbidden, and she’s promised to another. But with the crackling spark between them ready to catch flame, love is worth every risk…

My Review

A ARC provided in exchange for a honest review.

Mary Campbell arrives at a masked ball, and meets a rogue with a mask that matches hers and after sharing a dance together, she is captivated, there is only one problem….her family are against any association with him. Arran MacLawry, has no idea of the true identity of his mysterious fox, but when he learns of her true identity, he can’t help but be fascinated. Even though his brother forbids him to cause any trouble especially with the Campbells….he knows it may be harder than just staying away from the one woman that stirs his blood. Even though Mary knows she needs to stay away from Arran, she can’t help but keep meeting him, sharing lunch together, and when they share a soul searing kiss, she is hooked. Then when the unimaginable happens, and she is stuck between a rock and hard place, she turns to the only man who cares for her, a man that she adores more than life and will risk her families wrath for a chance to share the rest of her life with that rogue in a kilt….

Rogue With A Brogue is the second book in the series, and even though I haven’t read the first book, I knew I had to try this one, when It became available to me through Netgalley. And I will admit I did a little happy dance when I was able to download it and start reading it. The previous series by Suzanne Enoch I have had a difficult time reading, so I was a bit unsure how I would enjoy this one. But I felt well it has sexy highlanders in kilts…how can I resist? And what I fun and wild adventure this story was. The story is set in the early 1800’s and begins in London. But what begins in London doesn’t stay there for very long. Mary and Arran once they find out how much they feel for each other, decide to risk everything to be together. In the first part of the story, you see it leading up to that point, and I loved seeing these two flirt and connect on both a physical and emotional level. I love stories with huge conflicts….and this one had a huge one and it fits well with the story and the style of the authors storytelling.

The characters are very passionate and intriguing, and I feel like Suzanne Enoch has gotten her groove back, this story seemed so much more like her older books that I have come to adore and cherish. Both the main and side characters were deeply entrenched into the story, and the more you read the more you fall in love. With each page I felt like I was being immersed more and more into the story that takes you back in a time of warring families, sexy brogues, gorgeous men in kilts, and a romance to stop your heart!!! CHARM AND WIT WITH EACH PAGE!!!
