From New York Times bestselling author Tracy Anne Warren comes a sexy and romantic new contemporary series about corporate combat in the boardroom and under-the-covers passion in the bedroom……

Idealistic good girl Madelyn Grayson believes in doing what’s right. Even as a high-powered executive in the mad world of advertising, she doesn’t cut corners, making her ad campaigns sizzle without having to burn anyone along the way.

Rival exec Zack Douglas never wastes an opportunity to land the next big deal—especially when it benefits him. A bad boy with a reputation to match, he has no qualms about doing whatever it takes to get ahead, no matter who gets in the way.

When a hot promotion pops up at their company, both Zack and Madelyn wind up on the short list for the position. But as the two square off, they discover that being heated rivals in the office makes for scorching bed play behind closed doors. Will Madelyn’s steamy, secret affair with Mr. Vice make her compromise her ideals—or worse, lose her heart?

My Review

Madelyn Grayson has always done what is right, and even though she has always desired a career, she also dreams of marriage and a family with the white picket fence. Her rival in the business world of advertising, Zack Douglas, has reputations she wants to steer clear from. She believes him to be power hungry, deceitful and a womanizer. She steers clear of bad boys like Zack. Madelyn has just broken off her longtime relationship with her closest friend, who wanted marriage, but she wants more than platonic love, she wants passion and desire and a feeling of rightness. But on one night at a wedding reception, Madelyn and Zack share a dance, and spend a passionate night together, and Madelyn finds that she can’t resist Zack and his sexual vibe. As they being a secret affair, both Madelyn and Zack will learn some hard truths about each other, and what it truly means to love…
I will admit I had some reluctance to read this one. I hadn’t much ratings or reviews for this book. Now I will say that her historical’s are amazing, and I tend to get nervous when authors change genres, because you never know how it will work out. I was delightfully surprised with this one. Now it is not my favorite of this author, since she is fantastic in writing historical romances, and I do hope she goes back to writing them, but for a contemporary this was an enjoyable story that had me pulled in. I was able to really get into it, and even though there were a couple of aspects of the story I didn’t really like that much, I felt like the set-up of the story was strong, and the plot well balanced.
One of my least favorite aspects of the story was the heroine…now she wasn’t terrible, the first half of the story I really loved her. She seemed to be feisty and passionate, but had a good heart. I felt I could really relate to her. What I didn’t like so much was the fact that she seemed to jump to conclusions, and wanted to rush the relationship way too fast. This part of the story didn’t seem that realistic to me. There is also a small aspect of a love triangle, which I wasn’t expecting to see, especially from this author. But as an overall, as a romance novel, this was quite a lovely one. I really enjoyed seeing these two find their HEA, although I will say that it was pretty rough there for a while, but once they got past certain issues, you really feel the story connect to the reader. It did have many qualities that I fully enjoyed, and I loved seeing Warren expand a bit. I am looking forward to the next book.
A contemporary romance that is packed with sensuality, angst to love theme, and a romance that will put your emotions through the ringer…a simply delightful love story!!

My Review

Lily Bainbridge, is desperate to escape a arranged marriage. So she fakes her death, to escape her step father and his schemes, and dresses as a boy until she gets to London. On her way, she meets Ethan, the Marquis of Vessey, a man who tempts her in a way she has never been tempted before. But she manages to resist him until she gets to London. Then she receives her inheritance, and poses as a widow, to escape detection from her past. But then she comes across Ethan once again, and soon she can’t resist his charm or rakish ways, and gives into temptation, to be his lover. At first she is afraid that he will break her heart, but she can’t seem to stop being with him…he makes her feel passion and desire, and she feels more alive than ever.  The Accidental Mistress is the second book in the trilogy, and what a sweet story this one is. Not my favorite by the author, but still quite enjoyable.  I really loved seeing this couple together, and its the type of story that you can just enjoy on a calm day, and I loved the style of this author once again….she has astounded me with her writing. I just can’t seem to resist her books…each and every one is charming and this story was beyond delectable. I had fun with Ethan….such a bad boy he is….but sweet and tender too. He may be a rake of the highest order, but he also is soft as a marshmallow when it comes to Lily. A story to impress and delight you…and keep you coming back for more!! UTTERLY  CHARMING!!

Synopsis
He drives a hard bargain, but the pleasure is all hers.

London financier Rafe Pendragon has a reputation for ruthlessness, and exotic beauty Julianna Hawthorne is determined to clear the debt her brother owes him. Captivated by Rafe’s virile good looks, weakened by his intoxicating mix of danger and sensuality, Julianna boldly agrees to Rafe’s shocking terms: six months as his mistress. As Rafe’s intense green eyes pierce her body and set it afire, Julianna can only imagine what emotions his kiss may unleash.

Surrendering to the pleasures of seduction and carnal delight, Rafe never anticipated that love would be the cost of his bargain. When he realizes that a vindictive enemy may harm Julianna should their clandestine liaison be exposed, Rafe must choose between loving her and protecting her. To save his fair mistress, Rafe must risk what he has already lost: his heart.

My Review

When Julianna hears that her brother has been gambling, a big debt, that he is unable to pay off. She sets off to see Rafe Pendragon, one of the major financiers in London. When she goes to Rafe trying to work out a deal, he will only except one things: full payment of the debt or have her as his mistress for six months, and she agrees against her better judgment, but there is something about Rafe that calls to her. Julianna was married for five years before she became a widow, and since that time has never thought of another man, until Rafe. As he shows her the pleasures of the bedroom, they start to form a bond to each other, sharing deep secrets, and for the first time Julianna finds herself being able to share with Rafe what she can’t share with others, every part of herself. But Rafe has a enemy, a brother, who despises him. Afraid that if he continues a relationship with Julianna that her life may be put in danger….he has to decide what is the better course of action…choose to be with Julianna or set her aside for her own protection…

My Fair Mistress is the first book in this trilogy, Tracy Anne Warren, is one of those authors you can enjoy her stories over and over again. My Fair Mistress is a prime example of what makes me love romances, especially the historical genre. She brings characters to life, and in my opinion, this is one of her best works. Although I will say there hasn’t been a book of hers that I have read that I didn’t enjoy immensely…but there was something so sensual and poignant about this story. Its not your typical mistress romance…in fact upon reading this, you see more of a slow and sweet romance story that just pulls at your heartstrings. Rafe is a illegitimate son of a Lord, but his father died, and his brother kicked his mother off the property that she was living at, and as Rafe was making a name for himself in the financial world, his brother sought revenge. Rafe will do anything to protect those he loves. What he doesn’t expect is to fall in love with his mistress, but he finds Julianna a woman of beauty and caring, a woman that doesn’t deceive, and she is like a breath of fresh air for Rafe. But soon his past starts to take over his future, and will he be able to find a future with the woman that he truly loves and would do anything for?

I found myself falling in love with Rafe and Julianna with each chapter. In the first half of the story, there is quite a few bedroom scenes, but nothing too explicit, just sweet and charming, and even though its sensual there is a sense of friendship and affection forming between the two, scenes were they are playful together (those were my favorites) just seeing a emotional connection form with the physical.  One of the things I really admired about this story, was the focus on the emotional bond between these two, the love story was the priority, and it was so tender seeing these two come together. They go through some rough patches, but when I finished it…I had the feeling of pure satisfaction and I wanted to read it again I loved it so much. Overall a winning romance that stole my heart, and a story to win yours!! EMOTIONALLY RIVETING!!

Suddenly a man who relishes only carnal pleasures must confront the unexpected: a passion that may lead to everlasting love.

My Review

His Favorite Mistress is the third in the this trilogy, and I haven’t read her older trilogy’s yet, so I was really excited to see how this one compared with her other books I have had a pleasure of reading and what a wild and fun romance!! It starts out with the heroine get a chance with a new life, and along the way meets Tony, the Duke of Wyvern. Tony can’t help but be drawn to Gabriella yet at first all he wants is to have her in his bed. But with each embrace he starts to slowly fall in love with her. But a mistake might cost him everything. His Favorite Mistress was such a unique story and this was such a interesting take on the way the plot unraveled and there is such a sweet connection between them on each page, and such intense emotion happens with these two and it gets pretty  crazy but the story comes together in such a satisfying way that it capture your heart. A STUNNING TALE TO ENTHRALL!!!

What begins as a well-deserved reprimand quickly spins out of control when Rupert agrees to give Ariadne a few lessons in lust. But just how far will their passion go? And will their forbidden liaison lead them too far astray to turn back?

My Review

Ariadne, after seeing her two closest friends, finding love, desires the same. She knows its real and does happen, even if its less common. Adriadne lost her family, and currently staying with her friend Emma, until she comes into her inheritance. She knows she will not settle for anything less than love in a marriage. So realizing that may not happen, she decides to take a lover. She doesn’t care about the consequences, she wants to live and to live passionatly. On her quest in finding a lover, she keeps being sidelined by Prince Rupert, who is determined to save her. Rupert is the heir prince of a european kingdom, after Ariadne telling him of her plans, he decides if any man is going to be her lover, it will be him. He won’t let her be taken advantage of. So he then begins a seduction, a seduction that turns into a fierce passionate love affair, one where Ariadne will steal away into his heart forever….

The Trouble With Princesses is the third in the Princess series by Tracy Anne Warren. Now I have been  a fan of Warren for quite some time, ever since I read her Byrons of Braebournne series. This series has been so much fun reading, and I adored this latest addition. It was put in the category “impossible to put down” within a couple of chapters. I was completely drawn in from the beginning, and I definitely didn’t mind at all. The story begins with Ariadne telling her latest plan, to find a lover. She is tired of the tedious life she is living and needs some excitement, well she is about to get some. Then the hero steps into the game, and at first Ariadne refuses him, but when one night he kisses with a passion she never imagined, she decides what can it hurt right? So they begin in lessons in passion. This story was fun and beyond thrilling. There is a bit of intrigue placed in the plot, that will put you at the edge quite a couple times. A romance that is tender and sweet, and dazzles the reader.

The characters in this story were fun and I had no issues with them at all. The hero in this story is Rupert, and boy he was sexy as sin!! I loved his confidence, his strong personality that reeked of command, and the way he puts himself out there for Ariadne. Definitely put him in the top of the “Swoon worthy” hero category. He was delectable and breathtaking and I wouldn’t mind trading places with Ariadne. Now Ariadne was a perfect match for him. She isn’t a weakling, and gives in easily. She is a fighter that is for sure, especially when it comes to what she wants. She is not afraid of playing with fire, and I loved her insistance on making her own way, and doesn’t care about consequences kinda attitude. She seemed to me very easy to like and I was rooting for her all the way. The side characters were fun, and we see the two previous couples from the other books in the series, involved, which only made me want to re read the books again.

Overall a brilliant romance that captures you from the first moment you begin reading! A well done job for Warren, she delivers once again. A entertaining and wild ride of a romance with endearing characters, exciting driven plot, and a story to steal your heart! INTOXICATING!!

Princess Ariadne of Nordenbourg-a nation that now existed only in memory and history books-took a sip of lemonade as she surveyed the crowded ballroom.

Favorite Quote
Take another lover? He would show her exactly what he thought of that idea.
Reaching out, he caught her around the waist and pulled her flush against him, all his earlier good intentions drifting away as if caught on the breeze.
“If you ever mention seeking out someone else again,” he said warningly, “I won’t be responsible for my actions.” he grasped one of the ribbons tied under her chin, and yanked it free. She gasped, the strawberry falling unheeded to the ground.
“There won’t be any other lovers, Aridne.” He pulled off her bonnet and tossed it aside. “Only me,”
Bending his head, he crushed her mouth to his.

Synopsis (Goodreads)
While journeying home from Scotland, Princess Mercedes of Alden’s coach is set upon and her personal guard is killed. Barely escaping with her life, Mercedes seeks help at a nearby inn. But since she has no money and looks little better than a beggar, her claim that she is a princess is dismissed by the townsfolk as a far-fetched tale. Utterly forsaken, Mercedes wonders what is to become of her.

After years of soldiering, dispossessed Laird Daniel MacKinnon is finally coming home. While at an inn, he is confronted by a bedraggled young woman claiming to be of royal blood. Daniel doesn’t believe her wild tale, but when she asks for his protection, he agrees to serve as her bodyguard; in turn she promises to reward him handsomely once they reach London.

But Mercedes is still being pursued by ruthless hunters whose motives remain unclear. The danger increases, as does the desire that she and Daniel feel for each other, until the two of them must face the greatest danger of all: falling in love.

My Review

Summary
While on her journey home to Alden from Scotland, her carriage is attacked. With her personal guard, maid, and even her cousin dead, she is the only survivor and is able to flee into the woods. Finally after some time, she reaches a inn, and tries to convey her situation to the locals, who has little sympathy and don’t even believe her when she says she is a Princess. Then a handsome stranger defends her. Mercedes asks for his help as her bodyguard. Daniel, reaches out to this young woman who is obviously in fear of something and in need of a champion. Even though he thinks she is a bit addled in claiming she is a princess. However he feels that there is someone or something that has genuinely frightened her so he accompanies her to London. Through the journey back to London, he knows there is a real danger chasing them, but he fears he is in real danger of losing his heart to her.

The Hero
Daniel, felt like going into the military service was the best course of action. His parents lived on a poor farm, after their land was taken away. He has just returned, and plans on building a life for himself. When he finds a lone woman, looking like she has had the devil chasing her, he decides to help her out as best he can. Even though he thinks there is no truth in her claims as a princess, he decides to help her down to London. But when he finds himself falling in love with her, all he wants to do is claim her as his forever.

The Heroine
Mercedes was sent by her father to a school in Scotland, and now she is just returning home. She misses her family, and it has been some time since she has seen them. But her journey is violently interrupted when she is attacked. After barely escaping, she is horrified when her maid and her cousin are killed. There are men that want to capture her, but she has no idea why. She only knows that she needs to make it to London as soon as possible. When she meets Daniel, he rescues her. On their way to London, she feels herself starting to really care for him, and knows all she wants is to be with him for the rest of her life. Because she has never been happier than at his side.

My Thoughts
Her Highness and the Highlander is the second in the series by Tracy Anne Warren. I just have thoroughly enjoyed each and every one of this authors’ works. So I knew when seeing this one on the shelf that I had to pick it up. When I read the Blurb on the back, I knew it would be one that I hoped was just as good as her other books. I mean a princess in need of a knight in shining armor, a sexy highlander in need of a good woman, and a exciting plot to keep its reader on their toes. Who wouldn’t want to read it? I really enjoyed the characters…both Daniel and Mercedes I felt were perfect for each other. Mercedes I found to be very adaptive to each environment she is put in. For being a spoiled princess, there is a lot more to her than meets the eye. I really liked how she was willing to fight for Daniel and be with him no matter what. Daniel, is just so loveable, I couldn’t help but admire him from the first few pages. There was something about the way he is with Mercedes that I just found delightful. The Plot was exciting from the first sentence. I was utterly captivated by the suspenseful scenes, the engaging characters, the sensual love scenes, and a brilliantly written story. LOVED IT AND COULDN’T PUT IT DOWN ONCE!!!!

Favorite Quotes
They’d both spoken of beauty tonight, but nothing was as beautiful as this, nothing was as powerful or as soulful as this kiss. Even if she lived to be a very old woman, she knew she would never find anything as special or divine as being held in his arms, the night spread around them like a blissful sea.

My Thoughts
The Princess and The Peer is the first in the most recent series by Tracy Anne Warren. I have just fallen in love with every one of her books that I have been able to read. She has a unique way of making a story come so vividly alive. I really enjoyed the entertaining characters that just made you want to join in, through the laughter and the tears, there is such a endearing quality to the plot that it keeps the reader engaged until the very end.  I really loved seeing how Nick and Emma start to fall in love. Nick from the start is strongly attracted to Emma, but at first treats her as a friend, and after some fun scenes, we see the first romantic spark which turns into a whirlwind of a romance that will take your breath away.  A wonderfully portrayed story that will seduce you!!

My Favorite Quote
He claimed her. There was no other word for it. His lips moved against hers with a heady power that left her reeling, turning her weak and instantly dizzy. Heat burst in wild ripples over her skin, alternating with a shivering chill that made her whole body quake.
