My Review
Married At Midnight is four short stories written by four amazingly talented authors. Each story was very unique and even though very short, were all very entertaining and witty. The Four stories were 1. Determined Bride-Jo Beverly 2. A Kiss After Midnight -Tanya Anne Crosby 3. Scandal’s Bride-Samantha James 4. Beyond The Kiss-Kathleen E. Woodiwiss. All of each story were beautifully written and carried on the theme of getting married quick, and the falling in love came after they get hitched, which a bit refreshing. Even though they were all too short for my taste, and I felt like there were some things missing as far as plot and characterization….that’s the way it usually goes though with anthology, you always feel as though there is something missing….its why I don’t read them too often. This time I felt like I hadn’t read one in a while and its always good to shake things up a bit. Overall one of the best anthology’s I have ever read, especially when these stories were written by some of my favorite authors!!! A Wonderful compilation of four love stories that will leave you thirsting for more!!! Very Entertaining and Fun!!!

THE TURKISH PRINCE
Never had he encountered a woman who inflamed his desire like the blonde Westerner with the independent spirit. Although she spurned his passionate overtures, Kalid vowed to tempt her with his masterful skills until she became a willing companion on their journey of exquisite ecstasy!

My Review
Summary
When Sarah visits her cousin and his wife in Persia, she is intrigued by the culture, and volunteers to teach at the Sultan’s Harem. But then she catches the eye of Kalid, a Prince. So Kalid buys her from the Sultan, because she intrigues him in a way that no woman has. Sarah is shocked to discover she belongs to Kalid, and even though he is gorgeous and mesmerizing, but she refuses to give in to his seduction, because she is a person not a possession…but when he kisses her all her common sense and revolve goes out the window, and she feels herself opening up to him despite her inner protests and knows that she is falling in love with him…

The Hero
Kalid, was raised in Persia and this culture, having a harem is second nature to him. However when he was younger he was able to go to school in England, and he has always had a attraction to strong independent women. Having feeling bored with his own harem and life, until he see’s Sarah and he knows he must have her, and will do anything to keep her in his life…

However there is something strong happening between them, she can feel it, and before long she know it she is in love with the scoundrel, and doesn’t want to live a life without him even if that means giving up her previous life….

My Thoughts
This was the first novel that I have read from this author, and I just fell in love with this story. It starts out a little slow but eventually the story really kicks into gear, and I found myself not able to put it down. I have always had a weakness for Sheikh’s love stories, and this is probably at the top of my favorites now….Kalid is very arrogant and holds power in his hands….but as the story progressed you start to just fall in love with him as the hero. Sarah is very strong willed and determined and I just loved how she stands up to Kalid with no fear….and I just enjoyed seeing these two fall for each other….it was a heartwarming romance, that will tickle your toes as you read…and warm your heart!!! A beautiful story set in a exotic place!!! Definitely looking forward to reading more from this breathtaking author who creates wonderful stories to capture the heart!!

Colonial Historical Romance

Synopsis
A proud and spirited woman whose life was stolen from her … A man of secrets accused of a terrible crime … In a place of new beginnings their destinies are joined — in a glorious romantic new work from the incomparable storyteller KATHLEEN E. WOODWISS

The fiery and outspoken adopted daughter of one of England’s most formidable women, Shemaine O’Hearn has made powerful enemies. And now her adversaries have found a way to remove the hot-blooded beauty from her life of privilege: by falsely convicting Shemaine of thievery, and sending her in shackles to America, where she is to be sold in indentured servitude to the highest bidder.

In a bustling port city in the colony of Virginia, she becomes the servant of Gage Thornton — a shipbuilder with a young child in need of a nanny. And despite whispered rumors condemning the handsome widower for the untimely death of his wife, Shemaine cannot ignore her desire for this caring, generous and enigmatic stranger who silently aches with his growing need for her — even as grave peril reaches out from across a vast ocean to threaten their flowering love.

My Review
Summary
When Shemaine O Hearn finds herself engaged, and falling in love with a wonderful man she thinks nothing could go wrong, everything is going right, but she has one person that doesn’t approve of the match, his grandmother. So before Shemaine knows it, she has been falsely accused of thievery and is sent to America and sold into servitude for seven years. The ride on the ship was hard enough and she doesn’t know what is in her future. Then she is surprised when she is sold to a Gage Thornton, who is a shipbuilder and in need of someone to care for his son and to cool and clean….Shemaine figures it couldn’t get any worse now. Shemaine is surprised by how well Gage treats her, with courtesy and respect and kindness something no one has treated her since she was taken. So even though Shemaine misses her old life, she is prepared to start a new life with Gage and his son, and in Gage’s arms finds “Home”.

The Hero (Gage Thornton)

So he decides he is in need of someone to take care of his home and his son during the day, and when he see’s Shemaine on the docks, he has found his answer. Only he was never prepared for her sweet nature and innocence, or for the tender feelings he starts to have for her….and decides he wants her for all time…

The Heroine (Shemaine O’Hearn)
Shemaine, grew up in a loving home and there learned everything she needed when she would have to take care of a household however none of what she was taught was how to deal with being captured and sold into servitude. But when she is sold to Gage Thornton, she knew her life would never be the same. Gage treats her with such gentleness and care, she is overcome and before she realizes it she starts to fall in love with him….

My Thoughts
Petals On The River would have to be one of my all time favorite books from this author…one that I have probably read over and over….but its been a while since I have read it, and when I saw it in the library I just wanted to read this old favorite of mine. Petals On The River is such a sweet and charming story, and both Gage and Shemaine are such endearing characters you can’t help but love them. Also one thing that I love about this story is how there is much more to this story than a mere love story, it has some difficult conflicts that both Shemaine and Gage have to go through, and there some suspenseful scenes that kept the story going…and I just loved the blossoming romance that developed between these two. And I just thought Gage’s little boy Andrew was just charming and adorable…..Overall a loveable story filled with a charming characters, a exciting plot, and a love story that will make you cry, written by a Legend……A Sensational Romance!!!!

The Lady Most Willing

Scottish Highlands Historical Romance

Step into the glittering world of Regency and prepare to have your hearts warmed by Julia Quinn, Eloisa James and Connie Brockway…

During their annual Christmas pilgrimage to Scotland to visit their aged uncle in his decrepit castle, the Comte de Rocheforte and his cousin, Earl of Oakley, are presented with unique gifts: their uncle has raided an English lord’s Christmas party and kidnapped four lovely would-be brides for his heirs to choose from …as well as one very angry duke, Lord Bretton. As snow isolates the castle, and as hours grow into days, the most honourable intentions give away to temptations as surprising as they are irresistible.

My Review
The Lady Most Willing is a story in 3 parts combined into one novel. It starts out when Taron Ferguson is too impatient to wait for his nephews to find brides, so he takes matters into his own hands and kidnaps four young women from Bellemere Castle during a Ball, and takes them with the Duke of Bretton’s carriage–with the Duke sleeping inside it as well. When they arrive at Finovair Castle, with no way of getting rescued because of the bad snow storm. So the young ladies try to make best o fthe situation, despite Taran’s high handed tactics. Thus begins this fun and witty three part story. I just fell in love with The Lady Most Willing, I just loved how these three amazing authors worked together to blend three stories into one novel that surprisingly flowed really well and so smoothly that there was no confusion. I just loved seeing the romances develop between these three couples and how well it was written you coudln’t discern which author was which story, which made it flow real well, and didn’t seem choppy in any way, which made me just love it even more. I also enjoyed the conflicts that each couple had to face, made it seem more unique and special. Overall a delicious book that combines the talent of three amazing authors and produces a three set romance that was humorous, fun, exciting, and endearing. One you don’t want to miss this season!!

Synopsis
The sensational second novel in Joan Johnston’s new Western historical romance series set in the world of Bitter Creek.

CAN SECRETS AND SECOND CHOICES EVER LEAD TO LOVE?

After three months in a mail-order marriage, Hannah Wentworth McMurtry is a widow—pregnant, alone, and near death in the Wyoming wilderness. Though she is saved by a man with a face cut from stone, she still grieves the husband who died on their journey west. Hannah needs a husband, but does she dare marry another stranger?

Flint Creed has also lost someone he loved—when the woman he hoped to marry chose his younger brother instead. Now he must find a ranch wife of his own. But every female in the remote Wyoming Territory is too old, too young, or already married . . . until he discovers Hannah on the prairie. Flint doesn’t pretend to love her, but he doesn’t tell her he loves another woman, either. Hannah doesn’t pretend to love him, but she doesn’t tell him about the child she carries. Though danger surrounds them on the Wyoming frontier, the greatest threats of all are the secrets within—revelations that could destroy the new life Hannah and Flint have begun to cherish.

My Review
Summary
Hannah is a oprhan along with her other siblings, but when her older sister leaves them to marry and takes their two brothers, she and her two sisters are alone. Suffering abuse daily, she takes a risk and marries a Mr. McMurty, a stranger, herself and brings her two sisters with her, knowing it can’t get any worse. On their way out west, her husband dies from cholera, and her two sisters end up being kidnapped by indians, leaving her alone in the wilderness, only to be found by a Flint Creed, who offers her marriage. Hannah pregnant and alone, knows she doesn’t really have a choice, so she agrees. Flint, has loved his brothers fiancee for quite some time, but now that they are married, he is lost…until he finds Hannah and she is perfect to help him forget the one he really loves, only life is never that simple. The Hero
Flint Creed, is devastated when the woman he loves, chooses his brother, and ends up marrying him. Wondering how on earth he is going to live with them in the same house, until he comes across sweet Hannah, and he decides to settle for something he thinks is second best but even he can be wrong sometimes…..not knowing that even though he might love his brothers wife, his growing love for Hannah is something so precious he never wants to lose…

The Heroine
Hannah, being alone and pregnant, missing her family, and wanting to find them at all cost and knowing Flint is her way in doing that. Only she never thought that she would fall in love with someone that obviously doesn’t love her in return, who just loves someone else. However Hannah just wants to prove what a good wife she can be to Flint….so that maybe someday he could love her too

My Thoughts
Wyoming Bride is the second in the Johnstons Mail Order Bride series. I just loved this story and I am so glad I was able to get the ARC for it….since this is probably one of my favorite new series, and its awesome to read some historicals from this author since she usually focuses on contemporary’s. Wyoming Bride is a beautiful love story about two people who are in a need of love and someone to hold onto. From first page to last Hannah I greatly loved…she has such strength and courage and you can’t help but admire her…Flint on the other hand I had issues with….throughout most of the story he is always comparing Hannah to his brothers wife…and I just felt so much compassion for Hannah and I was totally on her side the whole way…but toward the end I started to like Flint but not love him because of the way he treats Hannah. Overall a great love story with many aspects that made it a enjoyable romance… A STORY TO REMEMBER!!!
