My Review

Brodie Gunnach, had a horrible childhood, and still suffers from the scars from that time. He is a member of the royal family; he enjoys his seclusion, and escaping his guards. But when he finds his mate, he is elated, until he learns that she is only fourteen years old and he will have to wait ten years before he will be able to claim her. The bond he feels for her is intense, and decides to withdraw from her, but still keeps in contact. Payton, has been in love with Brodie for years, but she senses that he is keeping secrets from her, and when she feels betrayed, she distances herself from him, but when her life is put in danger, she decides she can’t stop what she feels for him anymore, and they start to build a trust together, anxiously waiting for her birthday so that he can claim her. But there are evil forces at work, determined to tear the royal family apart, and will Brodie and Payton overcome the obstacles both from their enemy and the ones that keeping them apart?
Bound by Secrets was given to me by the Author, and I am glad I was given the opportunity to read this. Ever since I discovered this author last year, I have been impressed with this series. With each installment, it wins my heart every time. In the previous books, we see the tension between Brodie and Payton, but not much else, so it was such a joy to be able to read their story. Now what I loved about this book, is that it doesn’t start off from the present day, with only hints of what has happened in the past. The author takes us back to when first they notice each other, and then moves forward and you start to see the development of their relationship, and some of the cliffs they have to climb to start trusting and loving each other. The mate bond is very powerful, but I loved the way that this story weaves in the love story slowly and gently in and merges it in a way that comes out harmonious. I loved the flow of the story. You see the powerful talent of this author in this series, and this installment, is evidence of that.
The characters in the story are disarming in the way that they captivate you from the beginning. This story isn’t like the others, it does have some difference. One is that Brodie and Payton have felt a connection for years, and you see that bond grow.  In Bound By Secrets, it cultivates the talents and the cons of the characters and seems to merge them in a way that is astounding. They become real to the author, and as you read this story, you feel a bond to them, and they seem so vivid. The heat in the story is very light, but that is what I love about this author. Is that she can create a sensual story without a ton of bedroom scenes…it is very subtle, but the way she portrays feelings and emotions is stunning.
Overall a love story to capture, draw your attention, make it impossible to put down, and leave you feeling enthralled….a mind gripping tale that holds you from beginning to end!!

Will Pepper be able to put aside her past hurts in order to fully embrace her destiny?

My Review

I recently have fallen in love with Tracey Jane Jackson, and so far I have loved this series. This is the second book, and I decided it would be good to read this series in order…so I am. Bound By Fire, revolves around Pepper and Connall. Both of these characters we see from the first book. Connall is the brother of Kade (The King of the Caulde Ane). His mate, is Pepper’s best friend. Pepper has been keeping secrets from everyone that she knows and loves, but only to protect them. When she gets herslelf in a situation she has no way out of, she meets Connall who senses the panic of his mate. Connall has gone hundreds of years, without the hope of a mate until he meets Pepper, and then he knows that she is his destiny.

This was such a intense yet romantic story that just has totally won me over. From the first book, I could tell I would adore this series and so far my instinct is right. I love the voice of this storyteller, that has created a world that is full of mystery and magic. I really enjoyed the take on this installment, and how different it was from the first book. We see such a deep development of characters in this story, and I enjoyed Pepper–she has pizazz and spunk. She is a fighter and boy does she argue with Connall in every moment—quite enjoyable seeing their interactions with each other. Connall…is well very swoon worthy, he was such a great hero, and I loved him from the beginning. He definitely deserves someone that can handle him, and Pepper keeps him on his toes.

Overall a fun and intense plot that kept me on edge and without being descriptive, a fully romantic and sensual romance that will have you craving for more. A sweet and poignant story to keep a tissue on hand. SIMPLY WONDERFUL!!

My Review

Samantha Moore, is a researcher, and has been asked to come to Scotland by a company in need of her expertice. When she arrives, she meets her boss, Kade Gunnach, and she feels a pull towards him that she doesn’t understand, but Kade is her mate and destiny. Kade is the king of his people, the Caulde Ane, Kade has been alive for hundreds of years. and has been searching for his mate, but the moment he sees Sam, he knows that he has finally found her. But he knows that he must go slowly with Samantha, and not scare her away. Samantha has never felt a connection to anyone like that which she feels for Kade. She is drawn to him in a way that frightens her but also excites her. She knows that Kade is keeping something from her, something big, but will Samantha be able to accept Kade and the future he offers?

Bound By Blood is the first in the Caulde Ane Series, and upon a recommendation from a blogger friend, I decided to try this author out. Now I recently discovered her, and this book is free on Amazon and B&N…so I would highly you recommend you jump on over there and get your copy…you won’t regret it. This story was phenomenal in every way, and I had the hardest time putting this one down. It was so unique in its own way, and wasn’t what I expected to find, and I just adored the author’s writing style and she just had a creative way of pulling me into it from the first page. I was hooked instantly and it didn’t take me very long to get into it.

The story starts off with Samantha Moore, leaving her only home, and facing her fear of flying. She lands in Scotland, with the help of a stranger. Samantha has never been comfortable or at ease with anyone apart from her best friend and her family. She isn’t known to flirt or to make great conversation with strangers. But when she arrives in Edinburgh, and meets Kade, she feels more at ease with him than anyone she has ever known, but she doesn’t understand her feelings for him. Kade has been alone for many years, and has devoted his time to leading his people and being the kind of leader his father never was. When his sister falls ill, he knows its a problem in the blood, and he knows of one woman that can help. But he never expected that woman would be his mate. Kade slowly begins to court her, but strange things happen to Sam that she doesn’t fully comprehend, due to her connection to Kade. Kade wonders if she will run when she learns the truth about him.

From the first moment I started reading this story, I was fascinated with the way this author was telling this story. I felt captivated by the characters, and the emotions that were constantly being poured from the story were enticing and just made me yearn for more. I just couldn’t get enough of this one, and I had a ride with these two. I loved Kade and Sam together…they were so different from other couples I have seen, and definitely one of my favorite couples I have read in a while. There was such a pizazz about their chemistry and it just reels you into the story even more. You just crave more, there was a feeling of such decadent sensuality to the story, yet it wasn’t heated at all. It isn’t vivid in detail as far as the bedroom scenes go. The focus of the story is on the relatioship and the romance, yet the author had such a talented way of creating a love tale that won me over completely. Even though there isn’t much in the sex scenes at all, it was nice reading a story that I could just relax into, and enjoy, and not feel like I needed to be in the mood for certain scenes. I could just enjoy the romance and sensuality of the story and feel every vivid detail. ASTOUNDING IN EVERY WAY!!

My Review

I received a ARC in return of a honest review.

When I saw this title available on Netgalley I knew I needed to try it out. A short novella, that only consists of 85 pages, but I really liked the blurb so I jumped right into this one. The voice of the author in this story was addicting, I really liked the way she just sucked me right into the story. However I had a hard time loving this one. With the story being so short, it ends way too quickly, and just when it starts to get into the story it ends…a cliffhanger folks.,. and one I was surprised by. I am guessing the next book will continue right where this one leaves off. Even though this is a romance, there isn’t much of that in this one. I am guessing this first installment sets up the story for later books. We do see a bit of chemistry between Nicholas and Susan, but there is only a hint of it, but I did enjoy seeing how Grant really delves deeper into the characters. Even though I had a few issues with this one, I did enjoy it and was a short yet fun past time. Looking forward to the second one and hope it comes out…soon!! A Story that will pique your curiosity and keep you hanging at the end and hungering for more!!

Synopsis
I used to think my sister and I were just two nice southern girls who’d get married in a few years and settle down to a quiet life. Then I discovered that Alina and I descend, not from good wholesome southern stock, but from an ancient Celtic bloodline of powerful sidhe-seers, people who can see the Fae. Not only can I see the terrifying otherworldly race, but I can sense the sacred Fae relics that hold the deadliest of their magic.

When my sister was found dead in a trash-filled alley in Dublin, I came over to get answers. Now all I want is revenge. And after everything I’ve learned about myself, I know I have the power to get it….

MacKayla Lane’s ordinary life underwent a complete makeover when she landed on Ireland’s shores and was plunged into a world of deadly sorcery and ancient secrets.

In her fight to stay alive, Mac must find the Sinsar Dubh–a million-year-old book of the blackest magic imaginable, which holds the key to power over both the worlds of the Fae and of Man. Pursued by Fae assassins, surrounded by mysterious figures she knows she cannot trust, Mac finds herself torn between two deadly and irresistible men: V’lane, the insatiable Fae who can turn sensual arousal into an obsession for any woman, and the ever-inscrutable Jericho Barrons, a man as alluring as he is mysterious.

For centuries the shadowy realm of the Fae has coexisted with that of humans. Now the walls between the two are coming down, and Mac is the only thing that stands between them.…

My Review

So I debated sharing my summary of this one, and decided not too, there isn’t too much that changes from the first book. It starts off from the last book, and I was hoping there would be a little more romance in it, but yet again I was disappointed on the romance level. Bloodfever didn’t stand out to me, but I think I liked it slightly more than the first one, since it didn’t take as long to get through it. I think I knew what I was expecting from the first book, so I was more prepared for this one. The writing style is very moning, however it will take a while to get used to her change of how she is writing fiction now. Maybe the romance will escalate in the later books (I am crossing my fingers). Despite my reservations for this story, I did try to go into with a positive attitude. I did enjoy the tension that puts a punch in this story. We still have two men involved with Mac. Jericho is still as mysterious as ever or even more so now. Vlane, we see a little bit, but not as much as I expected to see especially from the first book. There is a bit of progression in Mac’s character, but I still have a difficulty truly liking her. She is admirable at times, but I feel like she complains way too much. I did feel like there were only subtle differences in the plot, from the previous book. So I am hoping that Faefever will have more surprises in store for me than this one was for me. I know this review is pretty negative, especially compared to other reviews I have written, but I am still having a hard time adjusting to this series that is so opposite from her highlander series (which I 5 star recommend). I am enjoying this Fae world that Moning has created, and it has definitely been full of thrills all the way. Overall a action packed story, that if you are looking for a fiction based story with a dangerous world of Fae creatures, with darkness every corner, and no one to trust….than this book is for you!!

My Thoughts
Its been a while since I have read a book from this author and from this series, and now I just want to read all the books in the series again. I have read the earlier books, but none of the recent ones, and after reading One Magic Moment, I now want to read all the others. From the first page I was completely drawn into the story. I Loved Loved Loved these two characters, it was pretty humorous to watch these two fumble through this little romance and courting they have going on. In the beginning we see that they don’t really care much for one another, but the more they are in each others companies, they start to form a powerful bond to each other, and I just had to sigh almost every chapter after that. I definitely loved the plot as well, in the beginning it seemed like it would be just a romance, but there definitely was a danger element that was added. One Magic Moment would have to be on the top of my life of time travel romances, right below Brenda Joyce’s. Although this doesn’t have much intimacy in the book, which is standard with this author. However I did love the romance level in this novel, not steamy by any means, but I fell in love with it all the same!!!

Book Review-This Is All I Ask

This Is All I Ask
Lynn Kurland
De Piaget Series
Berkley, 422 Pages
Published August 1997
Medieval Romance
ISBN: 0-425-18033-6

Synopsis
This medieval historical romance doesn’t offer any of the paranormal elements found in Lynn Kurland’s first two books, Stardust of Yesterday, and Dance Through Time, yet Kurland’s fans will not be disappointed by this sensitive and moving romance. Gillian of Warewick knows no other treatment than the terrible physical and mental abuse issued by her father. When he arranges a match for Gillian with Christopher of Blackmour, she is fearful: Blackmour is rumored to be an evil sorcerer. When Gillian meets him, he proves to be far more of a man than her father is, yet he is unwilling to be a lover to Gillian. She finds that Blackmour has as many psychological scars to heal as she has physical scars.

My Review:
As this is one of my favorite romance novels to read, a book that I have read and re read over and over, I thought it was time to do a review on this read. This Is All I Ask starts out with Gillian of Warewick, whose mother died when she was young, and her father tends to be very abusive to her both physically and emotionally. Gillian after losing her brother, who was the only one that loved her, she feels that she has no courage or beauty inside or out. When she is suppose to marry the Dragon of Blackmour, a man known for his deeds in battle, and rumored to have killed his previous wife, and deals in nefarious acts. Gillian, after being married to Christopher of Blackmour, Gillian is terrified of this man whom she knows regrets their marriage. After a deep misunderstanding these two lost souls find a way to overcome, what they view as deficiencies, but will become strengths as they find love and a reason to live and enjoy every moment together.

I love reading from this author, and as this is one of my favorites of this author I thought I would re read it and do a review on it. This is probably one of the most emotional romances that I have ever had the opportunity to read. Its both powerful yet sensitive, and will pull at your heart strings. Gillian is a young woman whose only known abuse and domination. She has never had freedom or to be able to think for herself. So when she first meets Christopher she knows that he is only marrying her out of a promise that he made to her brother. But as she sees that he struggles with a certain challenge of his own, that will be with him the rest of his life, she knows he suffers pain and loss as well, that he is in need of love as much as Gillian needs it and more. Kurland will take you on a roller-coaster of a journey will ups and down that might make you shed a tear, but will brighten up your day, I found This Is All I Ask to be a enriching read that you will never regret taking the chance on!!!
