My review

Received a ARC copy in exchange of a honest review.

Colin Brockhurst, has lived a life of pleasure and enjoying life as he can. When his father gives him a ultimatum either marry or he will sell the property that belongs to him, property where his mother is buried. Colin will do anything to get a hold of that precious property. His beloved mother died during childbirth of his fathers second child. His father then remarried, and circumstances between them have been strained, although he is quite fond of his twin step sisters. There is one woman he would marry, a woman who he will have to prove himself to. Angeline is a spinster, but has been waiting for true love and won’t settle for anything less. Angeline’s reputation is ruined in the eyes of society, after her ex fiancee told vicious lies about her. Angeline is desperate to fix things even though it wasn’t her fault. Her younger sister is about to have her debut, her father who was her closest ally, now hides himself away from her, and a man she once loved rejected her. That same man, Colin, and herself come to a agreement to restore his parents old home, that is in sore need of repair. As they start to work together, a chemistry builds between them, and they both discover a way to get what they both want….Marriage. But will marrying each other be enough or is love waiting right around the corner.

What A Reckless Rogue Needs is the second installment. After reading the first book in the series I was very excited to read Colin and Angeline’s story. I recently discovered this author, and it was her covers of these two books that drew me to her. I was so excited that I was able to receive a ARC of this title. In fact I came close to jumping up and down….and who wouldn’t be especially after discovering the joy of these charming storyteller that pulls you in magically into her love stories. And What A Reckless Rogue Needs is no different.

The story begins with Colin rushing home trying to convince his father to not sell the property that belongs to him. I instantly became charmed with Colin, very tenacious and a fighter. I loved seeing his vulnerability of his deceased mother, it was quite sweet at times. I really enjoyed how he would do anything to have a reminder of her. Now comes Angeline, where my heart just went out to her. We see a sweet woman who only wants what her parents have and what Colin’s parents have. We see how she starts to fall for Colin, But from her past experience, she wonders if her love alone will be enough for the both of them. Colin and Angeline’s story is all about trust and the true power of love, and it is worth the fight.

A Beautifully written romance with endearing elements, an engaging plot, characters to melt your heart, and a love story to bring a tear to your eye while bringing a smile to your face. PURE SENSUALITY!!

After a whirlwind courtship and elopement, Lady Alexandra Marshall watched helplessly as her husband was shipped off by her irate father. An annulment followed, and though Alexandra waited with packed bags, Christopher never returned for her. She has tried desperately to forget the only love she’s ever known and now devotes herself to the British Museum…until she discovers that someone has pilfered a fortune in jewels.

His scandalous marriage to Alex had hardened Sir Christopher Donally against the aristocracy that labeled a man’s worth by the titles he carried rather than by his deeds. Now with a new bride in his future and a sister who is about to enter Society, Christopher is determined to put the past behind him. But when Alex asks for his help in finding a thief, he agrees, in exchange for her support in launching his sister. Though running into Alex was not planned, nor his emotional reaction welcomed, he can’t help but be undone by one single, soul-stirring kiss.

Synopsis
To ruin a man’s life once takes a regrettable mistake.

To do so twice takes a woman like Julianne Baxter.

Eleven months ago, Julianne’s statement to the authorities wrongly implicated Patrick, the new Earl of Haversham, in his older brother’s death. The chit is as much trouble as her red hair suggests, and just as captivating. Now she has impetuously tracked him to the wilds of Scotland, insisting that he return home to face a murder charge and save his family from ruin. A clandestine wedding may be the only way to save her reputation—and his neck from the hangman’s noose.

Julianne has no objection to the match. More and more she’s convinced of Patrick’s innocence, though when it comes to igniting her passions, the man is all too guilty. And if they can only clear his name, a marriage made in haste could bring about the most extraordinary pleasure…

My Review

Almost a year previous, Julianne spoke a true statement from what she knew, and it resulted in Patrick fleeing to Scotland, an innocent man who didn’t do anything wrong but see his brother be killed. Julianne has gone up to see Patrick, to make amends and bring him back to his family, and to make sure he is exonerated. But they are found alone at his residence, with the local Pastor witnessing. So Patrick convinces Julianne to marry him to save her reputation, but he is marrying her for more reasons that she realizes. Patrick at first is outraged to see the one woman who ruined him. But he starts to soften toward her, when he sees the woman that is beneath the outer layer, a woman of passion and warmth. As Patrick and Julianne journey together to see that Patrick is proven innocent, intrigue and turmoil surround them, but then a deep desire only binds them stronger. And only when they learn to trust in that bond, will they be able to find a future…together.

Moonlight On My Mind is the most recent addition byJennifer McQuiston. The more I get a chance to read this author, the more I am impressed. Each new book is just better than the last one, and Moonlight On My Mind was brilliant! When I read the synopsis, I didn’t know if I would like it or not. But after reading the first chapter or two I was totally into the story and I had no problem reading it. Even though officially these three books aren’t part of a series, they are connected to each other. Each of the heroes are close friends, and I enjoyed seeing a bit of the past two heroes a bit involved in this one.

The story sets off drawing the reader with Julianne and Patrick being forced to help each other, and we see a flicker of sparks between them. The plot thickens even more when they end up getting married, and go back down to his family’s home. We see their relationship deepened further when the conflicts surrounding them rises. Patrick is determined to find who murdered his brother, before the law comes after him. There was plenty of shocks and surprises and the ending really blew me away, I definitely never expected that little surprise, but I do love it when a story turns out in a way you least expect it. Adds a certain thrill to the enjoyment of the story.

Overall I found Moonlight On My Mind a enticing and sensual romance that is packed with intrigue, danger, and plenty of romance for any reader!! STIMULATING TO THE END!!

In English society, the rules of engagement have stood the test of time. Until a Reckless Bride falls deeply, scandalously in love…

CAN AN INDECENT PROPOSAL

When Lady Claire Jellicoe agreed to a walk in the moonlight, she never imagined her titled companion might have brutal motives. Nor could she have dreamed up such a brave rescue by the most unexpected savior of all: an inscrutable nobleman with a daring plan of escape—and a deliciously tempting embrace…

LEAD TO EVERLASTING LOVE?

Timothy Evans, the Duke of Fenmore, has palmed more treasures than he can count. Even for a man who grew up thieving in London’s stews, a stolen bride should be beyond the pale. But Fenmore won’t let scandal ruin the spirited beauty’s reputation. And now that she’s stolen his heart, how can he ever let her go…?

My Review

Lady Claire is tired of the same redundancy of the Ton and society and never feeling any passion or emotion. Even though she is loved by her parents, she knows they expect her to make a good match. So she reluctantly agrees to go in a dark corner and exchange a kiss with a lord. What she doesn’t expect is to be attacked and to be rescued by a handsome Duke. Fenmore hasn’t always been a Duke. When he was young, he and his older sister had to survive the streets by thievery, but then they were rescued by a family relative and he was trained and tutored to be the Duke of Fenmore. For quite some time he has watched Claire from a distance and only wishes to prove himself worthy of her. When he finds her being attacked he rescues her and then they stumble upon a dead body and he realizes that Claire isn’t safe. So he and Claire decided to look for the murderer themselves, but along the way they start to have a powerful connection, a connection that will prove to be their greatest strength and could save the both of them.

After The Scandal is the fourth installment, and the first book I have read from this author. I have been watching this author for quite some time now. So when I was able to obtain a review copy, I was very excited to try this author out and I find that I really enjoyed her unique style. There was alot more to this book than a simple regency love story. The elements included into this read only added a air of excitement and danger and leaves the reader more intrigued with each turn of page. From the very first chapter we see the instant connection between Clair and Fenmore. They definitely have a unpredictable desire for each other, but even from their first meeting you see that there is alot more to their relationship than just passion.

The hero of the story is Fenmore, and boy I wish more heroes were more like him. Most of the time with this time period and style, the heroes are all about being rakes and seducing. However Fenmore is so different. He has a sense of high honor and respect for Claire, and you see how much he admire Claire and only wants her to return the feelings he has for her. Throughout the story you see him trying to prove his worth of her, and I loved his humble personality. But it wasn’t fake, it seemed so genuine and real and I definitely needed a tissue, he definitely evoked certain emotions. Claire is daring and bold and I loved seeing her react toward Fenmore. Claire is put in danger and even though put in certain situations most women would lean away from, she steps right into it, not fearing much of anything. I loved her sense of loyalty toward the hero and their relationship was full of conflict, passion, and adventure. Who wouldn’t want to jump right in and join them right? A exciting romantic tale that is guaranteed to weave a spell around you!! FANTASTICALLY WELL DONE!!!

Synopsis
A warrior prince…

A woman of science…

A quest for a lost star… Atlantis is unleashed.

Lord Justice made the ultimate sacrifice for his brother and paid for it with an unimaginable torture. Now he’s back, rescued from death, his sanity shaken, and his mission inescapable—the search for the lost Star of Artemis. But the beautiful human female whom he has sworn to protect is shadowed by an evil that could destroy them both.

The archaeological artifacts of Atlantis speak to Dr. Keely McDermott, sharing visions of life long ago. The ancient revelations have cast her into a world between past and present, between reality and illusion—and, when she meets the fierce Atlantean warrior assigned to guard her, between terror and temptation. Now, as their two worlds collide, so too will danger and desire..

My Review

Keely McDemott is a lover of history, and is a archaeologist. Keely is also a object reader and has to be very careful what she lets herself touch, especially if a object has too much violence and history attached to it. Her parents have always considered her a bit crazy, but Keely knows that she can use her gift to help. When a stranger approaches her to go to a distant place with enough archaeological finds to satisfy every appetite. So she reluctantly agrees to go to this “Atlantis”, even though she doubts its true existence. Lord Justice has sacrificed himself to a evil goddess, to save his brothers. When he manages to barely escape her realm “the void”, and making it safely back to Atlantis, the moment he sees Keely both sides of himself claims her for his own. All he knows is that she is “His” and none other. Justice is half Nereid, and half prince, and has kept that secret until now. When they learn of the location of a certain jewel that is from Poseidon’s Trident, both Justice and Keely go in search of it. What they encounter is danger and a flaming passion and a love to encompass them both.

Atlantis Unleashed is the third installment in the Warriors of Poseidon series that Alyssa Day has created. So far I have read the first three books in audio format and what a thrilling ride. I have been loving listening to these audio books, and Atlantis Unleashed is a personal favorite. The narrator was very talented and even though I do get a bit picky about male narrators at times, I felt like the narrator for this book did a outstanding job. It can be hard to find one you really like and can stand listening to. However I felt like he portrayed the story in its truest form.

The story instantly picks up from the last book, where there was a cliffhanger with Justice giving himself up. We start to see the strength and endurance that Justice has. Justice hasn’t had a easy living ever since he was born. Justice has had struggles, and we see that he has two sides of himself, and tries to put his darker half under the rug. But when he meets Keely, all bets are off. Justice has never had a harder time controlling the Nereid, but Keely doesn’t fear any part of him, she starts to fully accept him. Keely is thrust into a world of danger and a man who stirs her blood and calls to the deepest part of her. At first Keely doesn’t want to admit her feelings for this magnificent man, however as they both are going on a mission to find a certain jewel, “The Star of Artemis”, she starts to accept Justice and accept who he is and that he is a part of her future.

There is quite a bit of factors involved in this story, but Justice and Keely are the main attraction, and what a circus of adventures, thrills and a beautiful love story. I would have to say it might be my favorite one so far from this series. Its really hard to say which book I love the most so far, but Atlantis Unleashed was full on emotion and sensation and never let up. From beginning to end I was fully enthralled by this love story and all that factors involved in getting this couple their HEA. ASTOUNDING AND RIVETING!! It will blow  your minds!!

Synopsis
In the second in Maya Rodale’s delightful Wallflower series, London’s Least Likely to Cause a Scandal is taking Society by storm…

Being good has worked out very badly for Lady Olivia Archer. All she has to show for four seasons on the marriage mart is the nickname Prissy Missy. Her prospects are so bleak that her parents have betrothed her to a stranger with a dire reputation. If Phinneas Cole—aka The Mad Baron—wants a biddable bride, perhaps Olivia can frighten him off by breaking every ladylike rule.

Phinn has admired Olivia’s poise and refinement from afar…qualities that appear to have vanished now that they are officially engaged. This Olivia is flirtatious, provocative, and wickedly irresistible. She’s not at all the woman he bargained for, yet she’s the only one he wants.

He’s determined to woo her. She’s determined to resist. But Olivia is discovering there’s nothing so appealing as a fiance who’s mad, bad, and dangerously seductive…

My Review

Olivia is known as “London’s Least Likley” and is known for her poise and following the rules and never stepping out of line, and what has it gotten her, unwed after four season. One evening she meets a man who sizzles her senses just from one look across the ballroom, and she almost kisses him in public. Afterward, she learns her parents have betrothed her to the “Mad Baron”, Phineas Cole. She has heard many rumors about this Mad Baron, about how he murdered his wife. Phinn has admired Olivia from afar and knows that her genteel manner is just what he is looking for in a wife. What he doesn’t plan on is for scandal after scandal to occur after he decides to marry her. Phinn has no idea what he did to her, but then he learns that she believes the rumors about his late wife, which he didn’t ever think it had been gone around as much as it apparently had. Phinn is out to seduce his future bride and show her he isn’t the monster she thinks he is, that he can love just as passionately as she dreams of.

Wallflower Gone Wild is the second installment in the Bad Boys and Wallflower series that is the most recent series done by Maya Rodale. I have enjoyed reading her others series and this is the first book I have been able to read from this series. I am a bit disappointed that I have yet to read the first book, especially after loving this title so much. There was so much emotion and drama played out in this story. I couldn’t help but fall for this story. From the beginning I was fully engrossed in the story, the longest it took was just a couple of pages and I was hooked completely. Maya Rodale definitely knows how to deliver a charming love story and Wallflower Gone Wild is definitely a new favorite.

In this story we see two people that need each other and are each taught a humbling lesson about Trust. Olivia I liked from the beginning, and I loved how she schemed to make Phinn want to leave her, but all of her work and trying to create one scandal after another only tends to do the opposite reaction, Phinn starts to become more intrigued with Olivia. Olivia fears for her future with Phinn, but there is something so gentle about the way Phinn treats her and the way he is so patient, Olivia starts to slowly change her opinion of him. Despite the dastardly rumors that are flying around, she starts to realize she will have to trust in her true feelings about him, and not what other gossips say about him. Phinn is a scientist and could care less about public opinion, until he meets Olivia. Now he must prove to her that he isn’t dangerous or a killer. I also loved seeing the close bond that Olivia has with her fellow friends, and it only made me more intrigued with reading the first book, after seeing her friend and her husband together.

Overall a charming romance that tied me up in knots (but in a very delightful way). Wallflower Gone Wild is packed with romance, desire, engaging plot and characters to worm their way into your heart. A HEARTWARMING TALE!!
