Revenge never tasted so sweet…

When Clayton Campbell shows up on her doorstep, Olivia Swift is stunned. For long ago, Clayton was the boy who stole her heart. He’s also the man her betrayal had sent to the gallows. A man she believed dead, now standing before her, looking leaner, harder, more powerful than ever, his haunted eyes filled with a lust she had never seen—for vengeance…

Or burned so hot…

He’s a Crown spy who once faced death and escaped unscathed. Yet Clayton Campbell cannot deny that the sight of Olivia rouses in him something more than a thirst for revenge. Or that the bold beauty would lure him once more into a dangerous game. Only this time, Clayton plans to be the victor—with the tempting Olivia in his bed as his prize. But once passion ignites between them, the hard-hearted agent will face his greatest battle yet—for his heart…

My Thoughts

Even though his plans of retribution are in order, he starts to find himself weakening toward her because he is starting to see a whole different side to her…a side he could very easily fall in love with.

The Hero
Clayton, accused of a crime he never committed was sentenced to hang. But then a agent of the Crown came to him and offered him a deal. To be a spy or die. So he chose to live life. Ever since then he has learned to be one of the most talented spies, through trial and error. He trusts very few people. He has the chance to gain revenge on Olivia and her father. He, at first believes that she is just like her father, selfish. But he starts to see that she is very opposite from what she was before. A woman he is starting to admire and care deeply for.

The Heroine
Olivia, was devastated upon hearing about Clayton’s demise. She mourned and grieved for him. She has blamed herself all of these years. Even though she wanted to help Clayton she was even more afraid of her father. So she was unable to save him. But decided to build up the mill and create job for those in the community. Then she is shocked to the core when Clayton returns and draws her into a world that is so different from her own. But even more than that she starts to be consumed by a fervent desire for Clayton, and a love that only strengthens the more she is with him…but will she be able to choose Clayton over the mill and all that she has worked for these past years?

My Thoughts
Thanks to Edelweiss and Avon Books I was given a copy of the ARC Sins of a Ruthless Rogue by Anna Randol. I actually have never read anything from this author, and now I am wishing I had read more from this author. I really enjoyed this story, even though I am not huge on revenge type romances, I found that the way Randol weaved this story together, definitely has me hooked. The plot was very exciting and at times felt like a roller coaster, but had a fun and adventurous element to it. I also loved the style of writing this author displays….it instantly draws the reader right into the story. It didn’t take me very long to get into it. Clayton is full of revenge, and is more stubborn than an ox when it comes to Olivia. Even though there were times I considered him to be ruthless when it came to matters pertaining to Olivia. But I always love it when the hero gets proven wrong. I really liked Olivia, she admits to her mistakes and doesn’t excuse them for any reason. But we see how deeply she cares for Clayton, and she proves that she is a better person now than when she was fifteen. That she is willing to do whatever it takes to do what is right. The chemistry that explodes between them is burning and I found myself fanning my face at times. (where is my fan when I need it? LOL) But there was also some very tender and sweet moments that occur that just keep you wanting more. From beginning to end Sins of a Ruthless Rogue was a captivating tale that takes you on a adventure from England to Russia and will endear you to this author as it has with me. LOVED every page, every paragraph and sentence that had me falling heads over heels in love with this fun and exciting story!!

The First Sentence
Olivia crept around to the back of the mill, the not held tightly in her hand. “Clayton?”

My Favorite Quote
“What if I asked why you’re telling me your plan now? Why not continue to sit back and observe?”
Because the thought of anything happening to her had eaten at him like acid. And there was no way in hell he’d ever intentionally risk her again. “Because I want you too damned much.”
But he had to make her see that he wasn’t noble. She wasn’t the only one to make mistakes. That the light in her eye was misplace.
So he kissed her.

As a young lass, Sìleas depended on Ian to play her knight in shining armor. But when his rescue attempt compromised her virtue, Ian was forced to marry against his wishes. Five years later, Sìleas has grown from an awkward girl into an independent beauty who knows she deserves better than the reluctant husband who preferred war to his wife. Now this devilishly handsome Highlander is finally falling in love. He wants a second chance with Sìleas—and he won’t take no for an answer.

My Review
Summary
Ian, after years of fighting along side his three companions, they have finally come home. But when they arrive home, nothing is as it should be. Ian left five years ago, abandoned the woman he was forced to marry and went to fight, and spent much time in France. When he returns their clan is torn into two. His plans are to help his friend Connor, take his rightful place as Laird. But even more than that, to claim his wife. However that task is not as easy as he thought it would be. Sileas is so different from when he knew her as a girl, she is one of the most beautiful women he has ever laid his eyes on…and doesn’t even recognize who she really is at first. Even though she once followed him around like a puppy dog, she has grown and has her own mind, and a spirit that is filled with fire and courage. He knows he has tasks to accomplish that may be close to impossible but the one that tops them all is proving to his wife that he is here to stay….for good this time.

The Hero
Ian, has always cared for Sileas. When he was younger she was like a sister to him. But when they are caught alone together, he is forced to marry her against his will. So now he comes home, and he has been gone for five years. Now that he has returned, he finds her different, so much more than he could have ever dreamed. There is also something else, he knows her feelings for him are opposite from before. Ian knows he will have to prove himself to her before he could ever gain her trust or her love.

The Heroine
Sileas, has always loved Ian for most of her life. Even though he left for five years, that still hasn’t changed. However Sileas, knows that Ian is very different, he acts ashamed of her. First off he doesn’t even recognize her, then he acts like he can just enter her bed like nothing has happened the past five years. Well Sileas isnt some humble lass, she is willing to fight for what she wants. Which is to be loved and cherished.

My Thoughts
I have been wanting to read this author for quite some time, but haven’t had the chance until now. Ever since the first book came out in this series, I have been aching to read it. So finally I am so glad that I had the opportunity to do so. The Guardian, takes us to a time back to the 1500’s. At this time, in Scotland, it starts out with four boys who want to know their fortunes. Ian’s pleases him none at all, in fact he finds himself greatly disappointed to hear that he will be married twice. Especially since he has no desire to ever get married. But we see that he does end up married, to a childhood friend, Sileas. He leaves, after being forced to marry her when he tries to protect her from her family. Not truly knowing about the circumstances upon why she left, he does marry her. Now he has returned, he finds things at home so different than when he left. First, his younger brother looks at him with disdain and mistrust. His father has suffered a grave battle injury. His wife, more beautiful than ever, but just as distant. I really loved how this story played out, there were many amusing scenes that made me almost want to cheer. I just loved seeing Ian having to prove himself to Sileas and grovel at times. I just love a good highlander who needs to learn how to be humble. I fell in love with Sileas from the start, she is so sweet and endearing, but at the same time has a fiery spirit to admire. She doesn’t just meekly let Ian back into her life, she makes him work for it, and definitely was amusing to see. I also loved the love story….it had some twists and turn, some great action scenes, a emotionally gripping tale that will charm any that loves a good romance! An sizzling start to a recent series that is sure to sweep you off of your feet!!

My Favorite Quote
‘Ye did not claim me for five years.”
He slid a hand beneath her hair and cupped the back of her neck as he leaned toward her. “Well, I’m claiming ye now.”
His kiss was soft and sensuous, caressing her lips with a tantalizing suggestion of all that a kiss should be.

Synopsis

For the first time in print, New York Times bestselling author Julia Quinn presents a collection of “second epilogues” to her Bridgerton series, previously published as e-originals, plus a new bonus Bridgerton novella: Violet in Bloom,” a short story in which we finally meet Edmund Bridgerton.

My Review
I was given a copy of Happily Ever After by Edelweiss for a review. When I saw the title, I was beyond pleased. I have just really enjoyed reading this series. I hadn’t a chance to read the epilogue novella’s that have come out for some of the books in the series. For me though, I had such a fun time reading this, and read it in one evening, I liked it so much. I think my favorite novella of them all would have to be from “The Duke and I”. I think that novel was my favorite…I just fell in love with Daphne and Simon from the beginning. I really liked seeing more of them, and the rest of the Bridgertons. I really loved seeing a happy ending for Violet Bridgerton (the mother). I think I had always been hoping for a story for her as I read the series and we got to know her better.  There was such a fun and playful aspect to these novella’s, that keeps you engaged with every short story. I also liked the way this author did each novella, they were at various periods of time in their lives. It definitely kept me on my toes and unable to put it down. Such a delightful end to a fabulous and great series. I would recommend this to any lover of the Bridgerton series. A Perfect Ending!!

Synopsis (Goodreads)
It has been prophesied that four men, raised as brothers, will bring Scotland back to her rightful glory. The first is running for his life.

Charged with the restoration of Scotland’s one true king, Duncan MacAlpin isn’t surprised to find himself fleeing an army across the verdant hills of his homeland. But having to do so while shackled to a woman . . . that is a true challenge to Duncan’s ingenuity and self-control. For the lovely, untouched maiden he’s chained to is far too captivating to resist.

Despite her innocence, Mercy guards her own dangerous secrets. Proud and unafraid–hunted and imperiled for who she is and what she knows–she is determined to regain her freedom and never let it be taken from her again. Yet locked so tightly to her imposed escort, tempted by the warmth of the powerful Highlander’s body, she aches to give herself over completely to desire . . . and risk the heart she has fought so hard to protect.

My Review

Summary
Duncan, gets caught by the king’s soldiers and finds himself chained to her side. He knows that they will be killed very soon. Chained to her side, he admires this woman’s courage and tenacity. When they manage to escape the soldiers, just barely, they are on the run, trying to hide from the soldiers that hunt them. Duncan has a important mission, and being chained to Mercy is a challenge, but a delightful one. He finds himself captivated by her beauty and strength of spirit. Mercy is running from a past that has haunted her. She feels a deep connection to Duncan, a attraction that she can’t deny. Even though a part of her knows, they could never have a future together, all she wants is to embrace the precious time they have left.

The Hero
Duncan has always know of what his true purpose has been. He is part of the four, to bring the true king to Scotland and restore back their honor. Duncan has always known that he would someday find his true love and have a family, even though he has a vital mission to complete. When he ends up on the run with a beautiful woman who is literally chained to his side. He starts to feel a powerful desire for this woman whose courage rivals his own. He will do everything to protect her…

The Heroine
Mercy, has been on the run, from those that would kill her. She is also the bastard daughter of the current king. Now she is chained to a highlander named Duncan, who is unlike any man she has ever met. Mercy has been sheltered from other men, and until now has never been alone with one in this way. Mercy, has a strong will to survive, even though the king wants her dead. With Duncan, on her side, she feels that together, they have a chance to survive.

My Thoughts
Having read the three other books in the Warrior  King series, I very much was looking forward to reading Duncan’s story. I think from the first few pages of the story, I was captivated by these two characters, I couldn’t help but like them from the start. Duncan, is part of the four brothers where one of them will become the true King. It starts out with Duncan and Mercy being chained from the first page. Then after that, the real adventure begins. I have to say both of them handled being chained together very well. Mercy, is a very strong young woman, and can be just as fierce as Duncan. (Which was very enjoyable to see them together). I loved the way the story was written with creative scenes that could make one laugh numerous times. The love story that develops was a sweet and passionate one. The sex scenes were very hot and sexy. I really liked the way the plot unravels in such a way that captivates the reader and keeps you fully entertained until the end. I found Bound To A Warrior a delectable read, and one I had a hard time putting down. One that will be capture your heart!!

First Sentence
Duncan tumbled down hard onto the woman.

Quotes I Enjoyed

“He surprised himself when without forethought, he slipped his arm around her waist and drew her up against him, settling his mouth close to hers. “Love ,” He whispered  Love lasts forever.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Long, lazy kissses, soft, exploring touches and endless hours of lovemaking.
Damn he was in trouble.
“Look at all that food, Duncan,” Mercy said and eagerly licked her lips.
He leaned close to her ear and whispered, “And here I thought you only had a taste for me,”
Her warm cheek stung his cool one as she pressed it against his. “I’m saving the tastiest, most delicious for last.”
“Now you’re really tempting me,” he warned
While journeying home from Scotland, Princess Mercedes of Alden’s coach is set upon and her personal guard is killed. Barely escaping with her life, Mercedes seeks help at a nearby inn. But since she has no money and looks little better than a beggar, her claim that she is a princess is dismissed by the townsfolk as a far-fetched tale. Utterly forsaken, Mercedes wonders what is to become of her.
Daniel doesn’t believe her wild tale, but when she asks for his protection, he agrees to serve as her bodyguard; in turn she promises to reward him handsomely once they reach London.
But Mercedes is still being pursued by ruthless hunters whose motives remain unclear. The danger increases, as does the desire that she and Daniel feel for each other, until the two of them must face the greatest danger of all: falling in love.
My Review
Summary
While on her journey home to Alden from Scotland, her carriage is attacked. With her personal guard, maid, and even her cousin dead, she is the only survivor and is able to flee into the woods. Finally after some time, she reaches a inn, and tries to convey her situation to the locals, who has little sympathy and don’t even believe her when she says she is a Princess. Then a handsome stranger defends her. Mercedes asks for his help as her bodyguard. Daniel, reaches out to this young woman who is obviously in fear of something and in need of a champion. Even though he thinks she is a bit addled in claiming she is a princess. However he feels that there is someone or something that has genuinely frightened her so he accompanies her to London. Through the journey back to London, he knows there is a real danger chasing them, but he fears he is in real danger of losing his heart to her.
The Hero
Daniel, felt like going into the military service was the best course of action. His parents lived on a poor farm, after their land was taken away. He has just returned, and plans on building a life for himself. When he finds a lone woman, looking like she has had the devil chasing her, he decides to help her out as best he can. Even though he thinks there is no truth in her claims as a princess, he decides to help her down to London. But when he finds himself falling in love with her, all he wants to do is claim her as his forever.
The Heroine
Mercedes was sent by her father to a school in Scotland, and now she is just returning home. She misses her family, and it has been some time since she has seen them. But her journey is violently interrupted when she is attacked. After barely escaping, she is horrified when her maid and her cousin are killed. There are men that want to capture her, but she has no idea why. She only knows that she needs to make it to London as soon as possible. When she meets Daniel, he rescues her. On their way to London, she feels herself starting to really care for him, and knows all she wants is to be with him for the rest of her life. Because she has never been happier than at his side.
My Thoughts
 Her Highness and the Highlander is the second in the series by Tracy Anne Warren. I just have thoroughly enjoyed each and every one of this authors’ works. So I knew when seeing this one on the shelf that I had to pick it up. When I read the Blurb on the back, I knew it would be one that I hoped was just as good as her other books. I mean a princess in need of a knight in shining armor, a sexy highlander in need of a good woman, and a exciting plot to keep its reader on their toes. Who wouldn’t want to read it? I really enjoyed the characters…both Daniel and Mercedes I felt were perfect for each other. Mercedes I found to be very adaptive to each environment she is put in. For being a spoiled princess, there is a lot more to her than meets the eye. I really liked how she was willing to fight for Daniel and be with him no matter what. Daniel, is just so loveable, I couldn’t help but admire him from the first few pages. There was something about the way he is with Mercedes that I just found delightful. The Plot was exciting from the first sentence. I was utterly captivated by the suspenseful scenes, the engaging characters, the sensual love scenes, and a brilliantly written story. LOVED IT AND COULDN’T PUT IT DOWN ONCE!!!!
First Line
“Run, Your Highness, Run!”
Favorite Quotes
They’d both spoken of beauty tonight, but nothing was as beautiful as this, nothing was as powerful or as soulful as this kiss. Even if she lived to be a very old woman, she knew she would never find anything as special or divine as being held in his arms, the night spread around them like a blissful sea.
