Leila’s years on the carnie circuit were certainly an education. What she didn’t learn: how to be a vampire, or how to be married to the most famous vampire of them all. Adjusting to both has Leila teetering on a knife edge between passion and peril, and now the real danger is about to begin…

Vlad must battle with a centuries-old enemy whose reach stretches across continents and whose strength equals his own. It isn’t like Vlad to feel fear, but he does…for Leila, because his enemy knows she is Vlad’s greatest weakness. As friend and foe alike align against him—and his overprotectiveness drives Leila away—Vlad’s love for his new bride could be the very thing that dooms them both…

My Review

Leila, has had to learn to adjust to a new way of life, being a vampire, and being married to the most

infamous one of all time. Her life has changed from working the circus, and with their enemy still alive, both Leila and Vlad are determined to bring him to an end. But Leila is about to face a danger and an enemy that could destroy her. Now Leila will have to face a perilous journey that she may not be able to overcome. Vlad has an enemy that has been alive for centuries, and knows his strengths and weaknesses, but when Leila is put in danger and Vlad will have to do everything in his power he has gained from the centuries to save her and to conquer his enemy. Will Vlad’s love for Leila be their destruction or their salvation…

Bound By Flame is the third installment, of the Night Prince series. Now with each book, I keep thinking, if I love it more than cat and bones…because right now they are tied. I can’t believe I am saying that, since Cat and Bones are just a classic couple, and a favorite, however Vlad and Leila are an empowering couple, and their bond is just so strong and I have adored every moment seeing them come closer, and with each book, the danger increases. I waited a whole year for this story to come out, and it was worth the wait. I couldn’t put this one down once…it was a phenomenal read, and I would recommend it to anyone that loves a romance that will get that blood thumping.
Now there are certain things, I would like to keep under wraps in this review, so I don’t spoil it too much. But I would like to discuss how the relationship between Vlad and Leila grows. In this story, Vlad and Leila really get tested, I mean REALLY tested. And what happens shocks me and I wished I had some wine to get me a bit a fortification for this story. It tested my strength and I had the hardest time refraining from skipping ahead, I had to reign my self-control in, and control the urge. There was quite a few heart wrenching moments that tugged at my heartstrings. At the beginning of this story, Vlad and Leila have only been married for a short period, and have barely scratched the surface on the “honeymoon” stage, and with their enemy growing, you see how the danger tests their resolve, and most importantly tests their love.
The characters themselves were just as wonderful as ever, and I found them to be equally compelling, you also see quite a bit of growth especially in Leila’s case, but also in Vlad. When they get tested, you see how they grow and become stronger willed individuals and the steam level—WOWZERS!!! I think I got burned reading this one…watch out and you just might want to bring out a fire extinguisher to take out the flames.
Oh and as a side note, at the beginning of the series I thought it was only going to have three books, but for those that don’t know…there will be a fourth book…YAY!! So happy. I just can’t get enough of this series.
Overall a sexually charged paranormal romance that is packed with danger, suspense, a crazy villain, a possessive hero, and a heroine that will win over your heart!! A HEARTSTOPPER!!

Synopsis
Tis the season to join Cat and Bones for some holiday cheer in this Night Huntress novella by USA Today and New York Times bestselling author Jeaniene Frost.

They were looking forward to a normal holiday—at least as “normal” as it gets for vampires Cat and Bones and their otherworldly friends and family. But their yuletide plans are shattered when a mysterious stranger shows up and reveals long-buried secrets that threaten to take a bite out of their holiday cheer … and lives.

My Review
When I heard some outstanding reviews on this novella, I knew I had to get it. Jeaniene Frost has such a talent in this world that she has created. I have always loved Bones and Cat, and I enjoyed seeing a short story involving them which I found to be a good preparation for her next book Up From The Grave. It is set around late november, which is a good setting for the upcoming holidays. Cat and Bones are planning on having a get together with all their friends for Christmas, however when a stranger claiming to have a connection to Bones, Cat becomes suspicious after Bones and many of their friends act strange and unlike themselves. Cat will have to use every ability and strength to get to the bottom of it and defeat the enemy that wants to destroy them all. Normally I am not a big fan of novellas, but there are times when an author meets every expectation, and Frost excels. Even though it was under 100 pages, it almost felt like the size of a novel. There was no feeling of the story being rushed. The plot was engaging and the characters, as always, delightful. A Incredible addition to the Night Huntress series. WOW!!!

Synopsis
Danger waits on both sides of the grave.
Half-vampire Cat Crawfield and her vampire husband Bones have fought for their lives, as well as for their relationship. But just when they’ve triumphed over the latest battle, Cat’s new and unexpected abilities threaten to upset a long-standing balance . . .
With the mysterious disappearance of vampires, rumors abound that a species war is brewing. A zealot is inciting tensions between the vampires and ghouls, and if these two powerful groups clash, innocent mortals could become collateral damage. Now Cat and Bones are forced to seek help from a dangerous “ally”; the ghoul queen of New Orleans herself. But the price of her assistance may prove more treacherous than even the threat of a supernatural war . . . to say nothing of the repercussions Cat never imagined.

My Review

Summary
With Cat’s new abilites threaten to unbalance everything they have worked for. Cat never realized what becoming a vampire would do, but now she wonders if she will be enough to stop the war that is rising and threatens them all. When Cat and Bones and figure out that there is a rising tension becoming volatile between ghouls and vampires. When Cat goes to the ghoul queen to find answers and who has been a sort of a ally in the past, but could easily stab them in the back, they don’t trust her. However they know everything they need to know would come from her. So when Cat and Bones go to see her, Cat is forced to drink her blood and a different sort of power runs through her veins. Cat never imagined the consequences of such an action, one that would change things and could put herself and everyone she cares for at greater risk. Only by using every available power she has will they be able to overcome the power that could destroy them.

My Thoughts
As the fifth in the series, we see a growth of the relationship between Cat and Bones. This installment was a bit different than the others. I won’t say its my favorite one, it has the same sense of wit and suspense and sensuality, however the story line just didn’t draw me in as the others in the series. I did enjoy it quite a bit, and maybe its because its a re read…who knows. I didn’t feel like Cat and Bones have a strengthening in their relationship as the past books have done. There is quite a bit going on in the story that there isn’t a whole lot of focus on Cat and Bones. Even though there is a danger involved in this story, it wasn’t as provoking as in the past. There didn’t seem to be a life threatening danger, I felt like it was there but just on the surface. It was great to see more involvment in Bones and Cats friends such as Mencheres,Vlad, and Spade, Kira and Denise. Overall another enjoyable installment in this fantastic series, and even though not as entertaining as the other installments in the series, it was still a fun read.

Synopsis
Her deadly dreams leave her in grave danger

Since half-vampire Cat Crawfield and her undead lover Bones met six years ago, they’ve fought against the rogue undead, battled a vengeful Master vampire, and pledged their devotion with a blood bond. Now it’s time for a vacation. But their hopes for a perfect Paris holiday are dashed when Cat awakes one night in terror. She’s having visions of a vampire named Gregor who’s more powerful than Bones and has ties to her past that even Cat herself didn’t know about.

Gregor believes Cat is his and he won’t stop until he has her. As the battle begins between the vamp who haunts her nightmares and the one who holds her heart, only Cat can break Gregor’s hold over her. She’ll need all the power she can summon in order to bring down the baddest bloodsucker she’s ever faced . . . even if getting that power will result in an early grave.

My Thoughts
Summary
It has been six exciting years since Cat met her husband Bones, and they have journeyed on one adventure after another, never a dull moment. When Cat starts have horrible dreams of a man she doesn’t recognize in real life, but is able to trap her in her sleeping state, she and Bones investigate. They learn that Gregor knew Cat when she was 16 years old, and that her memory was wiped and has no recollection of him at all, even though he claims she is his wife and not Bones.  When Cat finds out that Gregor has the ability to steal her away in her dreams, she knows things are about to get ugly. Even though she is as curious as a cat about her loss memory, she also doesn’t want to risk losing the one man she loves with a desperation. Even though Bones is protecting her, Cat knows that it will be up to her to find Gregor’s weak link and use it against him, even if that means risking her own life to do it. It will mean using everything Bone’s has ever taught her and more…

My Thoughts
As the fourth in the series, I think I am falling in love all over again with Cat and Bones. This is probably one of my favorites, I really like how the relationship between Cat and Bones escalates even further. There is also a few conflicts that test Cat and Bones even more than the last few books. To say it was emotionally provoking is a understatement. We could see that even though Cat and Bones love each other deeply, doesn’t mean they aren’t going to have issues like any other married couple right? that marriage is pure bliss? well in this book, we see how challenges and circumstances can test you but also make one stronger. Cat and Bones are challenged in ways they haven’t before, that affects their relationship but I do love a intense conflict, definitely tested my emotions, that’s for sure. I found this story to be full of one exciting thrill after another. It could be very intense at times, and I was laughing at one moment, and then crying the next. It had the sense of being on a roller coaster ride, ups and downs with a sensual twist to get your heart rate up! A outstanding addition to a marvelous series. I am so addicted to this series, or anything really written by this author. Her style is so enthralling and keeps the reader on the edge. FANTASTIC!!

Synopsis
It should be the best time of half-vampire Cat Crawfield’s life. With her undead lover Bones at her side, she’s successfully protected mortals from the rogue undead. But though Cat’s worn disguise after disguise to keep her true identity a secret from the brazen bloodsuckers, her cover’s finally been blown, placing her in terrible danger.

And the tricks she’s learned as a special agent won’t help her. She will need to fully embrace her vampire instincts in order to save herself—and Bones—from a fate worse than the grave.

My Review

Summary
It seems like to Cat that everything is falling into place…finally. Bones is strong as ever by her side, but as she continues with her job and hunting down vampires, her cover keeps getting blown and now she and Bones may be in more danger than ever. When it is apparent that someone is hunting them, with quite a few instances that threaten them, they are resolved to find who is after them. What Cat never expects is that it would be a ex lover of Bones. It seems that Bone’s past is coming back to torture them both. Cat learns that sometimes you have to choose a side, and she knows that she will have to embrace certain vampire traits and her vampire side to survive. With Bones fighting at her side, she knows that they can defeat this new enemy that threatens their life and their love and everyone that they care about.

My Thoughts

At Grave’s End is the third installment in the series and what a wonderful addition it is to the series. I have been wanting for quite some time, to get this series reviewed, since I have read it already once and fell in love with Cat and Bones. In the third one, the tension only escalates and we see a newer relationship form between this couple.  A bond stronger than they have ever had before and I will admit as I was reading it, there were a couple times that my vision got blurried with my tears, and it definitely was powerfully emotionally provoking. It takes a bit to get me to shed tears, but this author has a way of portraying certain emotions from her stories to her readers. Definitely action packed, intensely paced and full enough paranormal drama to make you want to laugh and cry and jump into the book and join in the action along with Cat and Bones and their friends.  A  Delight to read!!!

Synopsis
You can run from the grave, but you can’t hide…
Half-vampire Cat Crawfield is now Special Agent Cat Crawfield, working for the government to rid the world of the rogue undead. She’s still using everything Bones, her sexy and dangerous ex, taught her, but when Cat is targeted for assassination, the only man who can help her is the vampire she left behind.

But a price on her head – wanted: dead or half-alive – means her survival depends on teaming up with Bones. And no matter how hard Cat tries to keep things professional between them, she’ll find that desire lasts forever … and Bones won’t let her get away again. Original.

My Thoughts

Summary
Cat is now a agent for the government, leader of a team in hunting vampires. It has been four long years since she has seen Bones. Cat left Bones, with good intentions, wanting to protect him, and still after all of this time she still loves him deeply. But she also knows that they would never be able to have a future together. When she least expects it, he re appears back into her life, and she is shocked that he has found her. There is a part of her that is ecstatic beyond measure, but she knows how dangerous it is to have him in her life. But when it becomes clear that there is a price on her head, Bones is the only one that will be able to help. Being at his side though has certain consequences and she finds herself weakening against him, and before long she doesn’t want to resist him any long. Cat realizes that they stand stronger together than they ever would apart, but only if Cat realizes that their love is strong enough to stand against any tide.

My Thoughts
I have just loved every book that has been written by this author. Its been quite some time since I have read One Foot in the Grave. As the second in the series, we see a continuation in Cat and Bones. The first one left off with Cat leaving Bones and starting a new life with a new identity and working for the government. I found Cat to be much stronger as a character in this one. I loved seeing the conflict and struggle between Cat and Bones, and I never liked how she left Bones in the first place. So I just adored seeing them get back together for good, and its always fun to see a intense plot unfold in such a fast paced way that makes you go to the edge of your seat. We still see the same sensuality and sexy intensity that comes along with Frosts writing. There is a certain way about her that she just captivates the reader instantly and makes it almost impossible to put it down. There is a sexy edge and a playful note to this story, a successful blend of romance, danger and intense emotion that will leave you thirsting for more. A Must read!!!

Half-vampire Catherine Crawfield is going after the undead with a vengeance, hoping that one of these deadbeats is her father–the one responsible for ruining her mother’s life. Then she’s captured by Bones, a vampire bounty hunter, and is forced into an unholy partnership.

In exchange for finding her father, Cat agrees to train with the sexy night stalker until her battle reflexes are as sharp as his fangs. She’s amazed she doesn’t end up as his dinner–are there actually good vampires? Pretty soon Bones will have her convinced that being half-dead doesn’t have to be all bad. But before she can enjoy her newfound status as kick-ass demon hunter, Cat and Bones are pursued by a group of killers. Now Cat will have to choose a side . . . and Bones is turning out to be as tempting as any man with a heartbeat.

My Review
Summary
Cat is on a mission…to kill as many vampires as she can find. Cat is half vampire and half human, her father raped her mother and she was born. She didn’t truly know about her special “gifts” until she was sixteen and her mother told her the truth about herself. One night on the vampire hunt, she becomes the hunted and being kidnapped by the most powerful vampire she has ever come across. They come to an agreement, he will train her to be a better vampire hunter and she will help him destroy other vampires, who he hunts as well. Bones is a seasoned vampire and has many abilities, he is currently a bounty hunter for his kind. When he comes across Cat, he knows she is unlike any human he has ever run across. Too sexy for her own good. When it becomes apparent that one fellow vampire is much harder to get, they know that they will have to work together to defeat him. Cat starts to question her own beliefs and standards, and Bones is the first person she has ever truly cared for with a desperation and he has shown her a road down desire and love, but will she be able to walk away when their mission is over or stand by his side?

My Thoughts
I have read this series before and just LOVED it! I have just found it to be sound thrilling and full of adventure, passion and danger. Cat and Bones are just classic characters-deeply woven in the story in such a way that takes your breath away. I love both of them. Cat is a bit insecure about who she is, but Bones is NOT! LOL He is fully aware of who he is and his capabilities. He has a alpha side, but he also is the kind that will stand by his woman. I love how protective he can be, and other times be sensitive (but in a good manly and alpha fashion). I love the pace of this story, never ending thrill one after another. I always find myself so entertained when I read this. There is also a complexity to their relationship that I always find so provoking at times. There is never a dull moment in this one, and I always am cracking up. I love the dry yet witty humor that definitely has me hooked and reeled in the story. Just a sexy adventure with a hero to die for and a story that will draw you into a adventure you will never forget. One that no one should miss out on!!!

Synopsis
Dating the Prince of Darkness has its challenges…

Leila’s psychic abilities have been failing her, and now she isn’t sure what the future holds. If that weren’t enough, her lover, Vlad, has been acting distant. Though Leila is a mere mortal, she’s also a modern woman who refuses to accept the cold shoulder treatment forever–especially from the darkly handsome vampire who still won’t admit that he loves her.

Like choosing between eternal love and a loveless eternity…

Soon circumstances send Leila back to the carnival circuit, where tragedy strikes. And when she finds herself in the crosshairs of a killer who may be closer than she realizes, Leila must decide who to trust– the fiery vampire who arouses her passions like no other or the tortured knight who longs to be more than a friend? With danger stalking her every step of the way, all it takes is one wrong move to damn her for eternity.

My Review
Summary
Ever since Leila has felt her psychic abilities weaken, she has felt that Vlad has been slowly withdrawing from her. She senses a distance between themselves that just keeps widening. When it becomes obviously apparent that she will never have his love, or he will never be willing to give it to her, when she loves him with a desperation. She knows that she must do the only thing left available to her…leave him for good. Leila never imagined how hard it would be to actually leave him, but when she returns to her old friend Marty and the carnival, she never thought it would be so hard to stay away from him. When there is a explosion, and she is the only survivor, she knows that there is someone that her life is in mortal danger. At first she doesn’t know who to trust, but she turns to the one person who she feels she can trust, until circumstances change, and she finds herself with Vlad once more. Vlad is devastated when Leila leaves him, he feels rejected, but when he finds her back in his life, he can’t bear to leat her ever leave him again. There is a danger lurking, that he is unable to pin point, and only fully trusting and working with Leila, will they be able to come down to the bottom of the danger that threatens her…because he knows he does love her fiercely and will do everything in his power to protect her no matter the cost.

The Hero
Vlad, didn’t become one of the strongest vampires alive out of sheer dumb luck. He was treated poorly as a younger man, and in turn had to become fierce and deliver justice with a firm hand. He doesn’t feel guilty over his past, he accepts himself as he truly is. He has yet to find a woman he would want to keep by his side forever…until he finds his Leila. Leila is so unlike any woman, independent, loyal, protective of those that she loves, and loves deeply. Vlad isn’t sure he can accept his love for her, he doesn’t want to appear weak to his enemies. However when he almost loses her, he knows in his heart he could never let her go, and must protect her.

The Heroine
Leila didn’t always have psychic abilities. She ends up being elecrotruted and has felt guilty thinking she has been the cause of her mothers death all of these years. When she first meets Vlad, her family and closest friends warned her of the dangers of getting close to him. That he was a dangerous man that would only end up breaking her heart in the end. When it becomes obvious to her that he will never love her she leaves him. However what she never realized is that she should have put more faith in him, and only by trusting him Now will she be able to get to the bottom of the danger that seems elusive but surrounds them.

My Thoughts
How can I say how much I LOVED Twice Tempted. I have been anxiously waiting for this book ever since I read Once Burned. Vlad and Leila are just explosive together. I adored both characters, there were so  many unique qualities about them both, that just made them perfect for each other. We see how desperately they really need each other. Vlad is just HOT and sexy beyond imagination….very *drool worthy* if I say so myself. He is so ALPHA, and has a commanding presence, and he loves control, and hates disobedience. So of course he would be drawn to Leila who would defy him right? Leila is a very strong willed woman, but not overly strong. She doesn’t start out as a fighter, she she does have a more gently side but she can be a fierce fighter when the need arises. I loved how she strives to be  There was a variety of intense emotions that are displayed throughout the whole story, so vividly portrayed in such a way that is unique to the author and her writing. I also loved seeing Vlad and Leila grow stronger together in their relationship. I have to say though, one of the many things I like about this authors books, is that she always surprises me when I least expect it. There were certain things that occur in this book, where my eyes popped wide open in surprise, never expecting certain things to happen. So it was a delight to be surprised and be taken on such a exciting ride of passion, danger and intrigue. I found Twice Tempted to be a intense story that charmed me with every page. A must read for anyone that enjoys a thrilling romance that will knock your socks off!! Top of my list of favorites!! FANTASTIC!!

Synopsis
Having narrowly averted an (under)world war, Cat Crawfield wants nothing more than a little downtime with her vampire husband, Bones. Unfortunately, her gift from New Orleans’ voodoo queen just keeps on giving–leading to a personal favor that sends them into battle once again, this time against a villainous spirit.

Centuries ago, Heinrich Kramer was a witch hunter. Now, every All Hallows Eve, he takes physical form to torture innocent women before burning them alive. This year, however, a determined Cat and Bones must risk all to send him back to the other side of eternity–forever. But how do you kill a killer who’s already long dead?

My Review
Summary
Recently managed to avert a war, Cat is more than looking forward to some quality time with her husband Bones…however it seems like trouble tends to find her whether she wants it to or not. With a government official trying to undermine her and all her hard work that she has achieved over the years, she is trying to stay afloat and keep her friends out of trouble. Then when a ghost asks for their aid, in stopping a killer ghost, Cat and Bones endeavor to try to find a way to stop him. But then unexpectedly Kramer (the killer ghost), has set a obsessed fixation on Cat, and is set to drive her crazy. Cat knows she has little time to protect the innocent women that Kramer has set his sets out on to torment and kill. But the one question remains…is it possible even with Cat working with Bones, to destroy someone that has already died?

My Thoughts
I have actually read this series, but not this book. I was able to get a copy of the audio book, since it was put on hold still at the library. So I thought why not? I do love a good love story on audio. First of all, I loved the voice, it did great with accents and displaying a variety of emotions. Second, I just love Cat and Bones….they are just so good together, and its so fun to see them on another adventure together, one which seems daunting to say the least. It was also fun to see all the friends of Cat and Bones play a role in the story as well such as Spade, Denise, Ian, and even her good ole’ Uncle who just is so amusing. There was also lots of action and suspense that felt like home for me. Whenever I read any of Frost’s books, I feel so at easy and can just cuddle on my bed or couch and read them and feel so happy. They can make you laugh, take one on exciting adventures, and pull at your heartstrings. There wasn’t really anything I didn’t like about this book. I love how Cat is so strong, even with Bones at her side, she fights her own battles and I just love that about her. Its like she has no fear. On a plus note: we got to see plenty of Spade and Denise..even good ole’ Ian….I know he isn’t the greatest guy…but he just makes me laugh. He is so absurd but stands by his friends…so you can’t help but love his bad boy routine. Another great addition to an amazing series that will just leave you breathless from beginning to end. There is such a charming and endearing quality about these books, that just keep you turning the pages as fast as one can read them.  Now I am wanting to re read the series…I just might have to do that soon. Its been way too long since I have read them. Anyone want to join in?
