My Review

Vasic, is a Arrow, trained since he was four years old to be a assasin for his people, to take orders and execute with no hesitation. The Psy are changing, with silence no longer existing, a new leader for their people, times are changing. When Kaleb Krychek, requests that he finds a group of empaths, and stop the wave of death that is sweeping across their people. Ivy, is a Empath, and when she meets Vasic, she is fearful of his intentions, but he proves to be trustworthy, and she starts to see him as more than just a Arrow, she starts to see him as a man with a soul. Ivy feels a emotional bond to Vasic, but his exterior shield is like ice, impenetrable, but like ice, it can also be weakened by heat. Ivy is determined to show Vasic the power of love and emotion and the healing they can do for each other. That she can be his greatest strength in a time when their people need it most…

I have adored this author for so long, ever since I read the first book a few years back, when I started getting more into paranormal…and Singh changed my view on that genre. And I still adore her books, and Shield of Winter is no different. After reading Kaleb’s book, I was hoping that in Shield of Winter we would see more of him and Sahara, and we see the other couples as well. We the Psy and Changelings combine forces to get to the bottom of what is killing of the Psy. There are many instances in this story that can be painful to see. But what I really loved was seeing Vasic get his story and find his mate. And Ivy was just wonderful, I loved having these two be a pair and they complimented each other so well. Vasic doesn’t know emotion or feeling of any kind. Ivy is Psy but being a Empath her talents are so different from Vasic. Even though Ivy hasn’t been conditioned like Vasic has been, she has her own demons from her past. The characters in this story were just phenomenal, and I really enjoyed seeing the personal growth…seeing Ivy and Vasic learn together and they are put through some vigorous tests that will prove them and the love that they share.

The story as a whole is pretty intense and thrilling, it just kept me on edge the whole time. With Singh at the helm, you just know that every time you read her, you know you will enjoy yourself…but I feel like her stories go way deeper than that. Its very dynamic and full of steamy action to keep you entertained for quite a while. You can never go wrong with Nalini Singh, and this book is proof of that. I would recommend if you are new to this author and series, you start at the beginning. The series of events that take place in this story may seem a bit confusing if you haven’t read previous books.

Overall I found Shield Of Winter a exciting addition to the series. A story that is guaranteed to take you on a wild ride of a paranormal world where shape shifter and pysic powers are real and intense. Of a world that will carry you away in a story that is compelling and highly sensual and will thrill you down to your toes!! Be ready for a story to make your blood pound like never before!! THRILLING!!

My Review

This review will be shorter than this story deserves, but trying to avoid spoilers, I am going to have to shorten it a bit. I was able to receive a copy from my local library, probably why it took me so long to read this one. But finally it became available, and I could hardly wait to pick it up. Before this book came out, there was quite a bit of rumors pertaining to the identity of the characters, and I knew that it would be a good one. I have to say that after reading the Heart of Obsidian, I definitely loved every page, and could hardly put it down, even though I worked long hours the past two days. So it took me a bit longer than I would have liked to get it read. From the first chapter you see who our hero is, and it takes a bit longer to find the identity to the heroine. I definitely didn’t expect the plot to turn the way it did. It had surprises and more information on the Psy than is previously revealed. I felt like I was learning way more about Psy, and it was a thrilling adventure, as this couple come together, especially overcome the obstacles they are faced with. When I first started reading Heart of Obsidian, I wasn’t sure how much I would enjoy it. But I had heard so many stellar reviews and outstanding recommendations, that I knew I had to give it a real chance. With this series being one of my top favorite paranormal series, I have absolutely adored every installment. However this story, wraps things up a bit more, answers all the question I had in previous books, it definitely made me see another side to the Psy than I did previously. There is a bit of darkness introduced into the story, more than in previous books, however I felt like overall there was a balance of dark and light in here. The love story was powerful and unique and had a special feeling to it. I loved the bond that develops between these two, intense and scorching. This book had me hooked from beginning to end, and I was very impressed with how events turn out, and we see a new era in this world that Singh has created for us. A SEXY YET SATISFYING READ!!

MY REVIEW:
  Summary:
The DarkRiver Sentinel Mercy, seeing all those that she looks up to and admires, involved with their mates, leaves her in need for one as well, even though its frustrating to no end on how happy everyone around her seems to be, but Mercy feeling a bit lost, until Riley Kincaid, starts to work with her to find a young researcher that has been kindapped. But as they get closer, the heat between Riley and Mercy becomes near explosive, with both dominant, they wonder how this could ever work between them, because if the mating heat comes, Mercy knows that she could never submit to Riley, which could destroy her in the end.

The Hero 
Riley Kincaid, a lietenant in the SnowDancer pack, despite his being a wolf, has yet to find a mate until Mercy, and passions definitely fire them both up. Riley, is determined to possess Mercy, despite the fact that she is a cat and he a wolf, because there is a rising undeniable passion between them, that he can no longer deny, and must claim her, but that is no easy task. Riley knows that Mercy is far from what he had invisioned his mate to be, more submissive and passive, Mercy is everything BUT!!! And he is in for a wild ride!!

The Heroine 
Mercy, is utterly frustrated with her friends falling in love and find mates, and wonders if that will ever happen to her, because she is a sentinel and such a dominant female, she yearns for passion and a love that she see’s all around her, but knows that if she ever found a mate, if he was dominant, it could very well destroy who she is. But when a young boy goes missing, she must join with Riley to find him. However when she is around him, she is on alert, and a heat that she can’t deny, knowing that she couldn’t ever submit to him before he submits to him.

My Thoughts:
Branded By Fire is defnitely one of the most heated of the Psy Changeling Series, of course they are all filled with romance and passion, however this story is a bit different than the others. Both characters are part of two different packs, and they are both dominants, and one or both will have to become submissive for their mating. As with all this series that Nalini Singh has created, I found it hard to put down, and kept flipping the pages as fast I could read them, taken into a world of adventure, intrigue, and wild passion that will smoke up the room with heat. I definitely enjoyed this wild ride that Singh has taken this reader on, ensnaring me on this endearing story of how love can be found in least expectation scenarios, filled with surprises and mysteries along the way. Definitely another one that I have fallen in love with in this author!!

My Review:
Faith Nightstar, is a F-Psy, having the ability to foresee the future and has been using her gift she was three years old. However of late, she has been seeing visions of blood and murder, and knows that it can’t be a good sign. But despite the fact that she has a powerful ability, her mind is very fragile, and can’t stand to be touched, or she could overload and her fear is that she would die because of it. Then she goes in search of Sasha, knowing that she is a fellow Psy that won’t betray  her to the council. But as she escapes the compound that she has been shielded in for most of her life, she ventures out into the real world, not knowing what to expect. Then comes face to face with the Changeling Vaughn D’Angelo, who is drawn to Faith, despite his distrust for the Psy. Vaughn, the moment Faith enters their domain, stalks Faith, not fully realizing how drawn he is to her. But while Vaughn is intrigued by this one woman, he knows he has to be careful because of the fragile state of her mind, but he senses that she is stronger that she even knows. However there is a danger to them both, for the Council will not voluntarily give up such a asset as Faith is. But will they be able to overcome all that stands against them to have a future together?

Visions of Heat is one of my favorites of the series, and I am so glad that I got my hands on this sensational read. I loved reading Vaughns story, and it was a wonderfully written story that I delighted in. Vaughn a jaguar changeling and part of the DarkRiver pack. Due to certain circumstances in his growing up years, Vaughn is more animal than man, more so than most changelings. So when he meets Faith, he distrusts her at first, but there isn’t a cold scent that he despises in most Psy, and knows that she is his mate and yearns to teach her emotion and pleasure that can be found in his arms, but knows he must tread carefully because of her fragile state of mind, not wanting to cause more harm than good, but knows he can’t wait too long to satisfy the demands of the animal within him. Visions of Heat was like many of the other books in this series, a sensational read, that had me hard put to ever put it down until I finished it. I found the plot to be mind blowing, the characters engaging and real, and filled with such suspense, mystery and passion that I had a hard time keeping up, with such action packed romance that will have you spinning in sensations. Definitely another winner in my book!!!

My Review:
Ashaya Aleine, has been separated from her son, and as a Psy, she is emotionless atleast to the Psy, but she has a great love for her son. So now because of that, she is forced to create something for the Psy that mean enslavement for her people. Then she manages to contact DarkRiver and they manage to get her son out and safe and integrated into their web. Now Ashaya has managed to hide herself from the other Psy, except for her twin sister, where Ashaya is met up with Dorian Christensen, a sentinel for DarkRiver. Dorian, a sentinel for DarkRiver, is out for revenge for the Psy, after his sister is brutally killed. But then he meets with Ashaya and knows that she is very different from the other, and there is a heated desire that is firing up between them that he can’t deny, and realizes that she is his mate. Ashaya is overwhelmed with all the emotions that she is starting to feel, especially for Dorian whom at first she viewed as a enemy, but now is the one man that she knows she can’t resist and doesn’t want to let go of, but there is a danger that is rising that will put them all in danger.

Hostage To Pleasure is the sixth installment to the Psy-Changeling Series. I have just loved reading this series, I have always loved shifter series, but this one is one of my favorites to read. I found Hostage to Pleasure to be a sensational read, with such delightful characters. Ashaya, is a twin, but her sister is in a way demented, but has not much Psy power, but Ashaya is the only one out of the two that has broken “Silence”. Even though her sister is her son’s biological mother, Ashaya is his mother in every true way that matters. Ashaya is willing to do everything she can to protect her son, no matter the cost. Dorian, even though he is bitter at the beginning toward Ashaya, his manner toward Ashaya we see soften, where he starts the process of healing. Dorian even though he is part of DarkRiver, he has never been able to fully shift into animal form, he is one of the strongest of DarkRiver. As I was reading this one, I found myself taken on a ride of sizzling passion, alluring characters with a witty exchange, and a plot that will have you grabbing the hold of your seat to hold onto this mesmerizing installment to the Psy-Changeling series, that will leave you eager for the next installment in the series!

My Review:
Sasha is a Psy, having grown up where her own mother is part of their great council, and having to never experience any emotion. But Sasha is different than the rest of the Psy, she does feel emotion, but tries to hide it from the other Psy so that the unthinkable doesn’t happen.  Then her mother tells her that she will be liason of sorts with a changeling, more specifically Luc Hunter the Alpha of his pack. Lucas, has always had a certain distaste for the Psy, however when he meets Sasha he thinks differently. He knows that there is something different about her, but he can’t put his finger on what exactly there is that makes her stand out from the other Psy. As they work together, in trying to discover a missing girl, and a man who keeps on murdering innocent changeling women, they start to draw closer together, despite the fact that the odds are definitely against them. Both Lucas and Sasha will have to work in unison to solve the greatest mystery and to come out both alive. Will the love that they have built be enough to stand against everything that stands against them?

I loved reading Lucas’s story, I have read a few other books within this series, and I have always wanted to read Lucas and Sasha’s story, they always seemed so connected and in tune with one another in the other books, that I definitely was thrilled when I got my hands on this one at the library. I found it to be such a riveting tale and had a suspenseful intensity about it, that really kept me turning the pages, and I could hardly put it down. The passion between these two is definitely steaming, and will fog up your windows for sure. I also loved the plot of this book, it definitely was one rollercoaster after another, and left me wondering what was going to happen next and always surprising me till the very end.

My Review:
Talin McKade has known Clay Bennett since her childhood, but when one night she see’s the true nature of what Clay could become she lives her life in terror. But she is now a grown woman and goes to find Clay to help her and innocents for she can no longer do it on her own. She needs help from someone that she knows that can. Children from the streets have been kidnapped and turning up dead on the streets, and Talin is at a loss as to what to do now. Now one of the children that she has grown very close to has dissapeared and she wants to find him before he turns up dead as well. So she finds Clay and is filled with fear once more. Clay is no longer the boy she once knew, who saved her from a monster. Clay Bennett is a sentinel of the DarkRiver, and has a young boy grew close to a young woman that he bonded close with. However when he releases the animal side of himself that he had tried to hide from, and kill the one that was abusing Talin, he loses the one person that he ever felt close to, his best friend, believing later that she died he is now faced with the fact that he was lied to, and Talin has been alive all this time.  Now a sentinel with responsibilities, Talin comes to him for his help and he has a great need to possess and claim her. Clay never wants to let her go, and vows to himself that she will never leave him again. But they must find the truth and find the lost children before it is too late….

I truly enjoyed reading this, and the more I read Nalini Singh the more and more I want to read the rest of her. She has such a great talent to portray her stories and relationships within them so vividly alive that you feel drawn into the book and taken into a new world with danger and passion that will excite and enthrall you. I just started reading her books and I am so glad that I decided to start reading her. At first I didn’t know if I would like reading her, but I have heard such great things, and I have to say that they are all 100% true. Nalini Singh will surprise and delight you!

My Review:
Brenna Shane Kincaid, after being kidnapped and tortured by a serial killer, is vulnerable. Brenna has been violated especially by her mind, and she can sense evil very easily. Brenna is one of the Wolf Changelings, but ever since her kidnapping she hasn’t been able to shift, only use her claws and teeth. Brenna wonders if she will ever regain her wolf, for she feels lost. Having older brothers, who are very over protective and she want’s to have space and freedom back.  Judd Lauren is a elite soldier of the Psy, and now having defecting from the council and the ranks knowing he doesn’t want a future of having doing terrible things in the name of the Psy. Having been silenced ( feeling no emotion) he is a cold unfeeling being, however when he meets Brenna he finds his cold nature melting away. This was the first book of Nalini Singh that I have read. I wanted to read this Psy-changeling series in order, however since this one came through the library, I might have had to wait weeks, and I wanted to read her books, and I found that even though I wished that I could have read the series in order, I didn’t need to. I can usually figure things out pretty fast, and I did with this one. It was a intense love story that mesmerized my senses. Brenna was the kind of heroine that I always love reading, her kind of character creates a kind of conflict that I love reading and enjoying their journey of healing. She has been defiled and treated abominably yet she remains strong, and despite her brother’s wanting to protect her. Brenna doesn’t want their protection, despite her love for them. The one that she wants protection from is the cold and ruthless Judd. I also enjoyed seeing how despite how cold he is at the beginning, he definitely starts to heat up throughout the rest of the story that captivated my attention. He knows that Brenna needs touch often, so he tries to accommodate her, to help her in her challenges, but Judd never expected to start feeling. I also loved the love scenes between these two characters, definitely heated and timed perfectly throughout the book. I am so glad that I finally was able to get drawn into the world that Nalini Singh has created and I am looking forward to reading the rest of the series!!!
