New York Times bestselling author Janet Chapman welcomes her fans back to Spellbound Falls, where no one is immune to the magical powers of love…

Originally from the ancient mythical island of Atlantis, Nicholas has spent the last year deep in the mountains of Maine, serving as Director of Security for the Nova Mare and Inglenook resorts. Fully embracing his life in the twenty-first century, he finds himself irresistibly drawn to a trouble-prone employee, and is determined to keep her safe.

The last thing Julia Campbell needs is a man with a hero complex, especially one as handsome and imposing as Nicholas. All she has to do is keep it together until her younger sister turns eighteen, and then she can focus on her own life. But strange things have been happening at the resort—and it’s Nicholas who keeps coming to her rescue. When Nicholas is suddenly the one in trouble, Julia realizes he’s not quite what he seems—and that she’ll do anything to help the man who’s stolen her heart…

My Review
Summary
Nicholas, as the director of security takes his job very seriously. When he see’s a young lone woman in need of his help, he is more than willing to help a lass in distress. He never expects that Julia would have such a secretive nature, and he finds her very intriguing and can’t help but want to pursue her, but it baffles him that she keeps running away from him every time he tries to get close to her. Julia, is determined to get herself and her sister out of their father’s house as soon as possible. Her father tends to be abusive at times, and Julia is the only one able to really protect her sister. But her sister still has to turn eighteen before she can go to college, and so Julia can work on getting a stable job and being financially free of burdens. When she first meets Nicholas he practically forces her into his truck to drive her home, but when he ends up kissing her, she is embarrassed beyond belief. However when he pursues her like a dog hunting for a bone, she knows she may be in deep trouble. Nicholas is the “hero” type, always out trying to rescue others. Nicholas plans on keeping Julia to his side and show her what a real man is, and desires her to fully love him.

My Thoughts
As soon as Heart of a Hero showed up on the library shelves, I snatched it right up, I was so excited to get a chance to read Nicholas’s story. There is a certain magic touch to Chapman’s story, and I just have fallen madly in love with her most recent series. Ever since I took my first class at college, I have been so fascinated with mythology and its so great when you see certain authors incorporate it into their stories.

I have found that the Spellbound series, has a perfect blend of mythology and romance…that makes for a enchanting read. It first starts out with Nicholas being the hero for Julia, and practically picks her up bodily and forces her to take a ride home with him instead of riding her bike, which isn’t exactly a short distance away. Nicholas I found to be a very likable character. He never gives up on Julia, even though she keeps running away from him. Julia once left the mountain when she got married but she came back a whole different person, divorced and struggling to protect her sister. I found Julia to become endearing but she could be so stubborn at times. I did enjoy Julia though, she seemed to be the kind of heroine you find you can relate with easily. Julia hasn’t had it easy in any way but It was such fun to see these two struggle into their relationship. It definitely was full of a mountain of problems, the least of which being Nicholas’s heritage. There was also so many little things about this story that only made it for a easy and tender love story that can easily capture your heart. It has been wonderful reading this series, and see each book just get even better and better. We still see other characters that are involved in this couple as well, which is also a delight. I found Nicholas and Julia to be perfect for each other for a variety of reasons. One if they both are too stubborn by half, so they deserve each other. They each are willing to fight for those that they love, and even though in the beginning their relationship gets to a bumpy start, we see how these two come together when it really matters.

Overall it seemed to make for a magic story that is full of a witty dialogue, charming characters, a plot to take you on a exciting ride, and a love story to enthrall you. A delihtful read that is not to be missed out on!!! Brilliantly done!!!! A truly unmatched story that is beyond memorable!!! A Must Read!

Synopsis
While building a wilderness trail for a new five-star resort in Spellbound Falls, underachieving playboy Alec MacKeage rescues a beautiful woman who is being chased by kidnappers and agrees to let her hide out with him for a few days. But when those days stretch past a week, Alec finds himself fighting his attraction to the mysterious Jane Smith—despite knowing the woman isn’t who she claims to be. Then again, neither is he…

On the run from her own life, Jane is really Carolina Oceanus—and she’ll do anything to avoid the six ancient-minded men her father has brought to Maine to vie for her hand in marriage. But as the maddening competition heats up, Carolina realizes that she’ll have to come clean to Alec, the seductive loner who’s managed to capture her heart…

My Review
Summary
When Alec rescues a stranger from two brutes, he has no idea who she really is, since she claims to be a Jane Smith, which is obviously not her real name. When he takes her to his camp  to recover he reluctantly agrees to keep her for a few days. Carolina (aka Jane) has just escaped from her kidnappers with the help of Alec. For two years Carolina has managed to live a free life, free from her over bearing father, in hopes of finding true love, but has yet to find it. Then she comes across Alec Mackeage who treats her like a normal person. In all of her life, she has been treated like a priceless object, but for the first time in her life she is treated as if she really matters. As a few days turn into a week, she starts to have some deep feelings for Alec, but also knows that they may never have a future together. As her father is the king and leader of Atlantis, she knows she can never have what she truly desires…to be normal and to have a chance at a normal life, with a man she loves at her side.

The Hero (Alec Mackeage)
Alec is here in Spellbound Falls to work on the trail in the woods. Alec also has a past that he has had to keep from everyone, including his family. Alec knows he can never be able to love someone fully, so he knows having a family is not in his future. When he hears a woman screaming for help, he leaps to her aid, and takes her to safety. He offers her shelter for a few days, and even though he finds himself starting to care for her, he also knows he has no real future to offer her.

The  Heroine (Carolina Oceanus)
For most of her life, Carolina has felt boxed in, with no control over her life. She loves her parents, however she needs a life of her own. For the past two years she has managed to escape her fathers clutches, in search of a normal life. When she gets kidnapped, she knows she is deeper trouble, she barely manages to escape with the help of a stranger who awakens every sense she has. She has always wanted to find love and passion, but never thought she would find it in Alec.

My Thoughts
Courting Carolina is the third in the series, which is Carolina’s story. After seeing her in the past two books, I was very much looking forward to reading  her story. It starts off with a very exciting scene, that only entices the reader for more. I really enjoyed this story, probably more than the last one. It didn’t have as much magic in this one as the other did though, so I would consider it more under the contemporary style. Although there is a fun dose of magic to liven things up. I really liked Alec, he is the certain type of hero you want to hold close to your heart. Alec has gone through a hard time, and doesn’t believe in love in the beginning. But I just loved seeing how he fought for Carolina, in very creative ways too. I think I was just cheering him on for trying to prove himself. Carolina has always been sheltered, at times too much, and wants freedom. And I loved how she fought to stay at Alec’s side and show how strong she really was. I loved the charm, the witty humor, and the tender romance that blossoms, it seemed to me to be a exciting yet magical love story that will bring a tear to your eye! If you haven’t yet read this author, you are missing out on some amazing works!!!

Synopsis
New York Times bestselling author Janet Chapman takes you back to the magical town of Spellbound Falls, where Duncan MacKeage is about to uncover great love with hidden dangers…
All Duncan MacKeage wants is to keep his crew building roads and bridges up the mountain to the fancy resort overlooking Spellbound Falls’ new inland sea. He doesn’t want anything to do with his own family magic or with the beautiful widow, Peg Thompson, and her tribe of little heathens. But when Duncan is tasked with keeping an eye on the widow Thompson, trouble starts.

Because of a family curse, Peg fears that giving in to her desires will mean killing off another lover. But Duncan—the strong, handsome man buying her gravel—is unbelievably tempting and determined to take care of her. Torn between her head and her heart, will Peg find the strength to break free of her black-widow curse? Or will pursuing their attraction put these lovers in harm’s way?

My Review

Summary
Peg Thompson has no room in her life for a man in her life. She is busy with four children, and she has a suspicion her family is cursed and dares not fall in love again. So she tries to distance herself from Duncan, who has recently surfaced in her life. Duncan MacKeage comes from a family of magic, however he doesn’t possess any. Duncan is busy building new roads since the change in Spellbound Falls. But then he comes across Peg and her four children who create chaos. However he finds himself charmed by this family, that is led by a woman of incredible beauty and inner strength. She is feisty and strong and protects her children like a mama bear, but he knows there is a inner passion in her just waiting to burst free, and he knows he is up to the challenge of helping her let go of some of her inhibitions. He also wants to show her the power of true love and the magic of his family can overcome any curses and prove to Peg how true his feelings are for her.

The Hero
Duncan comes from a family that despite their supernatural abilities, also is very old fashioned. When he first meets Peg, he is practically attacked by her four children and herself. To say he is charmed is a understatement. He finds himself intrigued by Peg and her heathens. Duncan however doesn’t know if he truly is the man for her, despite what Mac tells him. But when he finds that he truly wants to keep Peg in his life, he is determined to prove to her his love for her….no matter any protests she may make, he is a Mackeage after all.

The Heroine
Peg, lost the love of her life due to a horrible accident, that she felt was not worth his life. Now she is alone and raising her four children all on her own. She believes that she is cursed, along with all the female members in her family, of never being able to hold onto the men that they love. So now she is determined to build her dream home, raise her four children, and live a life alone if necessary. But when Duncan comes storming into her life, he changes everything she has planned. She also knows he is the only one that can truly protect her from the danger that threatens herself and her children.

My Thoughts
Charmed By His Love is the second in the series, and after just loving the first one I had a lot of expectations for this one. Even though I really enjoyed it, I didn’t exactly fall in love with everything that happens. It took a bit of time to get fully into it, but once I did, it was almost near impossible to put down. I found myself charmed by this story, and even though the whole “Curse” thing really didn’t fly with me, I found the rest of the story enchanting. I really loved Duncan, who is a ‘ he man’, but I also loved the way he was around Peg. She is what you would call feisty and stubborn, but Duncan handles her really well. I found this to be such a fun read, with witty humor, and a sweet romance that will charm any reader. A Delight to read!!! Looking forward to reading more from this series…..

Besides, weird stuff seems to happen all around him. Take the fact that her seatbelt keeps getting stuck in his presence, or locks magically open for him without keys, and that he seems to have a talent for sensing things. Never mind the three lost albatrosses walking down the road in the middle of the night. Since when are there albatrosses in Maine?

But despite Olivia’s resistance to falling under the sexy man’s spell, Olivia is having trouble fighting her longing. Because she knows Mac is just the man to unlock the powerful passion deep within her…

The Hero

She doesn’t know if she feels worthy enough to be with this gorgeous specimen of a man, who is so protective and caring towards her and her daughter, and without wanting to, she knows she is falling in love with Mac and wants more than anything to be a part of his life….forever.

My Thoughts
Spellbound Falls is the first in the most recent series by Janet Chapman. I have to say I can’t believe I fell behind in this author. When I discovered this book in the library, I knew I just had to read it. Ever since I discovered this author, I have just loved the tender romances and witty humor found in her works, and now I have found another story that I have fallen in love with. Spellbound Falls is a bit different than her other books. It brings in what I would call “New Blood” where the hero is very powerful, royal and is from Atlantis, and is also known as a wizard. I really loved the way the story was put together, and it seemed a bit different than her other books. Spellbound Falls is a enchanting romance, filled with witty humor and a sense of fun and adventure. I loved the creativity and appealing story line that just draws you in instantly….A Magical Read!!!!

My Thoughts
Highlander For The Holidays was just an amazing read and once I returned from the library it was the first book that I could hardly wait to pick up….Janet Chapman has to be one of my favorite authors now especially since I think I have read all of her books now…I think….Highlander For The Holidays was so firmly packed full of everything that makes a great romance and even though it wasn’t my favorite it definitely was a fantastic read. One of the things I truly loved about this book was how Jessie is amazing in the inside and even though she is scarred on the outside Ian still thinks she is sexy and beautiful and I just love that. And any of you that have read this book know exactly what I mean. Although the ending wasn’t what I expected and disappointed me a bit….it still had a great romantic effect. A Winner!!

MY REVIEW
Summary:
Megan McKeage went to work on the Canadian Tundra and met a Wayne Ferris where she fell in love only to have her heart broken by him, and now pregnant and returned back to her family, is determined to start a new and fresh start with her child. Only things hardly go as planned, especially if your from the MacKeage Clan. Then the new chief of police Jack Stone, she finds out in a unexpected way, is the same man as Wayne…and now after just buying a home for herself she has no idea what to do. Megan knows that she can’t trust Wayne/Jack, because he hurt her once, and he definitely could do it again. Jack, still feels guilt over the way he had to hurt Megan, but he is a private eye, and had to keep who he was a secret, and when Megan was in danger he did the only thing he could in order to protect her…but at what cost?? Can Megan and Jack look past the hurt and betrayal to find and hold onto their love once more?….

The Hero (Jack Stone)
Jack has had a lonely life, after losing his parents at a young age, and running from foster homes, he has had to learn to survive. Now he is established in a career that keeps him fulfilled and one that helps kids that he feels a connection to, because he was once like them, who didn’t have anyone to turn to. Then when investigating a runaway, he starts to fall in love with Megan, whose sweet spirit pulls him in, and he will do everything he can to protect her no matter the price…even if that means losing her in the end.

The Heroine (Megan MacKeage)
Megan, is one of the daughters of Greyland and Grace, whom we see in {Charming The Highlander (1)} and when she went to escape from her family for once…she thought that she had found a man to love and have a family, one whom would be happy when she got pregnant, but then he rejected her and she went back to the loving warmth of her family. When she is faced with him again…she has no idea what to do to keep from getting hurt again. She wants to believe his reasons aren’t lies, but are truth, but only time will tell.

My Thoughts
Secrets Of The Highlander is the sixth in the Highlander series. After reading Megans’ parents book I was excited to read her book, and I have just loved this series so far…and each book that I read I only want to read this author more and more. I feel like I am practically addicted to her writing and her stories, and I just can’t get enough of them….definitely a well worth it read to be sure. Secrets of the Highlander is one of those romances that just pulls at your heart, I felt a kinship with Megan, and was on her side most of the time…because even though Jack is trying to protect her….he definitely needs to work for it to get her trust back…and I was entertained seeing him try….I just loved the wit and humor that is in this book…there were parts that I just burst out in laughter…and those of you who have read this book know exactly what parts I am talking about (LOL) and those that haven’t well…you just need to read this series and you will laugh your heart out….but I did love the romantic side to the story as well…the wit I found was a perfect balance with the love story and with a spice of mystery and some fast paced action. There was such pure pleasure in reading Secrets Of The Highlander and I am thrilled to have found a new favorite author.

My Thoughts
Wedding The Highlander is the third in this wonderful series, that I keep falling for over and over….Janet Chapman is a new favorite author. In a way her humor is similar to Sandra Hill, however there is still a serious tone to the story, and a tender romance in every story that will pull at the readers heart strings….After seeing Michel in the previous two books, I was excited to read his story. From the first book, my heart went out to this characters, and Chapman definitely fulfilled every wish for him….Wedding The Highlander was definitely a sparkling gem…I felt enchanted by the romance that builds between Libby and Michael, and his son Robbie will just make you smile, I think I just loved everything about this book, and there was still a good plot that will keep you flipping those pages as fast as you can read them….Definitely A 5 for me!!!!

My Thoughts
Loving The Highlander is the second in the Highlander series, and I have just loved this series so far.  I really Enjoyed this one as well, I think I enjoyed the first one a bit more, but this one was just as exciting and fun and full of witty repatore that could make you laugh over and over. I also loved the idea of the heroine, being not with perfect skin or a perfect body, that there were still some conflict between Sadie and Morgan, but it showed that love can truly overcome anything, and we see the hurdles they past together, and it was a truly magical read. I loved seeing the adventure, passion, fast paced action and the fun romance in Loving The Highlander! A Entertaining read!

MY REVIEW
Summary:
Grace Stutter, having the responsibility of delivering her sisters baby to the father, since her sister died, waits six weeks before heading to Maine, having a feeling that she would be making a new start….but then her plane crashes on the mountain and she, the baby, and a sexy highland warrior -Greyland-are the survivors. Now they are pushed together out of survival, but a deep passion is awakened between them…a passion that burns slowly to a deep love that will change their lives forever…..

The Hero (Greylen MeacKeage)
Grey, the leader of his clan, once lived eight hundred years ago, until in the midst of a battle, he and his men are taken to the future by a wizard, so that he can find his true love, since he would never be able to find her in his own time. Grey, has been in the modern century for four years, and has been adjusting pretty well as far as he is concerned. From the first moment he sees Grace, he finds her breathtakingly beautiful and will do everything he can to bind her to him so he can have her forever.

The Heroine (Grace Sutter)
Grace, is a scientist, and doesn’t believe in anything magical or any superstitions of any sort. When her sister comes to her with a death bed wish, she knows she can do nothing but honor it. On her way in doing so, she meets with Grey, who is unlike any man she has ever met, his kisses as sweet as honey, yet as powerful as thunder, and he starts to slowly take over her senses..

My Thoughts
I have never read this author, but I was in the mood for some good highlander romance, and I decided that after hearing some great things from this author, I knew that I needed to try her out, and I definitely wasn’t disappointed. I just got this book a few hours ago, and just finished, I was that drawn into Charming The Highlander. I think I loved everything about this book. I just love it when you have time travel books when dealing with sexy highlanders from the past….so yummy with the accent, attitude and their fiery passion for a woman they love. There were definitely many witty moments throughout the story that would make you bow over and laugh your heart out. The writing was charming and tended to draw the reader in from the first to the very last page of the book. I felt like I was actually there in the story…the scenes were so vivid in detail….definitely a keeper for me!!

Favorite Quote
“Its too late, Grace” He said, breaking their kiss to stare down at her with eyes with color of winter spruce. “Its already begun, and there’s no going back. Forget what your mind says, and listen to what your body is telling you.”
